Do the people who defend/support Pulmonary actually hate LSU baseball?

I often wondered, do these people secretly hate LSU?

Or are they ok with these failing performances year after year?

Are they the same people as the ‘Keep Miles’ folks we had to deal with in the 2010’s?

I don’t advocate one way or the other, but you can’t compare football to baseball. They aren’t remotely the same when it comes to wins and losses.

They appreciate mediocrity and are adverse to Change. Exact same crowd that defended and continues to defend CLM. CPM is CLM 2.0 and beyond.

Is it too much to say don't overreact one way or another to baseball games in March?

they support the coach, not the program. Bizarre.

I could say that a new coach would bring new life into the program, but the fact remains that LSU has had better success than almost every other program in the country. LSU could be better with a new coach, but they could certainly be a lot worse than we have been also.

Where are these people who “defend/support” Paul at?

I see people bringing context to a situation. I see people correctly stating that nothing can be determined in March.

But all of those people I also see saying that we need a deep postseason run for CPM to stay.

I don’t think there is any chance you see anyone else coaching at LSU for 2022. Unless we just have a complete meltdown he’s not getting fired this year and IMO the team is too talented to completely melt down and miss the postseason.

Barring a CWS appearance this year 2022 is going to be pretty damn warm for CPM and he’ll be replacing his entire starting rotation at the same time. Not ideal for him.

He’s got to get it done this year and he knows it.

It's kinda hilarious going on YouTube and listening to Maniarei cry about a loss. It's actually unlistenable like an old woman or Truman Capote explaining (whining) what happened in that game.

This fricking Bianco experiment needs to end Doughty at 2nd (when he returns) Arnold/Cranford at SS. If Bianco has a problem jump back into the fricking transfer portal again.

This has been kicked around ad nauseum for years.

I'm no CPM apologist nor a should've fired him 4 years ago.

His record on hosting being a nat'l seed (one benchmark) is very good. His success in Omaha is so-so.

If there's a coach we can get that gives us a better chance to win championships, then I'm all in. In reality, there's not a deep pool of candidates who can reasonably be expected to exceed what CPM is doing.

Very good post. Think you've expressed where I'm at with this.

They're like Miles supporters back when. They don't really care about winning or losing, about pride or the program. They just like having a nice guy run things and they fear change.

Remember the guy who used to always post Les Miles records and accomplishments with every post. Even he kinda faded away toward the end.

You dont seem to be very clued in to the fanbase if you think there is a section that Supports him because he is a “nice guy”

Losing early OOC games doesn't bother me much anymore. Its SOP with maneri. There are many many things about him that have bothered the shite out of me since he showed up BUT you can't deny that we have had a good run relative to the rest of the country with him. I forget who it was but if that pitcher doesn't get hurt in 2017 we have a real good chance to take that last game. I'll parrot the phrase I hate to hear: there's too much parity in the game now for skip bertman style dominance.

Pulmonary will go down as one of the best to ever do it. As much as he makes me cuss and throw shite, let's not act like he's a shite coach.

Results. Results. Results. It’s all that matter. LSU Baseball results have been lackluster. If you ok with that stay the course.

No I love LSU baseball.

I’m not a fire CPM now guy and I’m for waiting till at-least till the end of the season before making a decision.

I also don’t overreact to a bad series loss in baseball.

If CPM doesn’t produce than I say fire him, but he has us in decent shape every year. I admit maybe he could do better but far from being in position that he should be let go.

Honestly I don’t see him being fired, more likely to retire or “retire” (as in forced to retire) before being fired.

If we are looking at results lets look back.

2020 No SEC games can’t judge a canceled season
2019 Hosted Regional and Super Regional 5th in SEC lost two games to FSU. Average season, could have done better
2018 15-15 in SEC play, lost in Oregon State Regional. Bellow average season (If 2018 was the norm, than I would say we are lackluster, but that is a fluke year)
2017 tied with UF for regular season champs, won SEC tourney, top 8 seed, lost in CWS finals to Florida. Great Season (unless you are a negatiger than a horrible season)
2016 season 19-11 in SEC play lost in Baton Rouge Super Regional to National Champ Costal Carolina. Average to Above Average
2015 Season SEC regular season champs went 1-2 in Omaha. Above Average Season.

That is far from “lackluster” maybe decent but could do better.

For me to be on the fire CPM train, LSU would have to underachive with this impressive crop of freshmen. Likely two years straight of not hosting a regional and possibly missing out on post season play.

If we are at-least hosting regionals no way we fire him, more likely to retire.
