National media doesn't do anything we haven't done to ourselves.
LSU has never hired a top tier AAA coach in 50+ years. It's not changing now. And it doesn't matter. We just need a competent guy who can run a football operation. We're not getting any of the A list guys, period. Never have, never will.

Exactly, look what we did with a real quality QB.
LSU fans have said for years all we were missing was a legitimate QB, and once we got him it was game over.
Build it (hire a great offensive minded coach) or Solid CEO HC who knows defense like Aranda and bring in a modern offensive OC and the QB's will line up to play at LSU.
Walker Howard's taking a visit to Notre Dame but his heart is at LSU no doubt!

New alignment in SEC West could put and should put Bama in East to play Florida & UGA every year. Let them get a taste of that & we'll see many more SEC CG's in our future.

Coaches may be scared of Title IX and NCAA, BUT SHY? That will give them more time to get it right if the penalties are stiff. In other words, they should want to come to LSU for all the reasons the OP states.

I have dismissed riley, and Dabo because there is nothing to gain leaving where they are. I absolutely think LSU is one of the best. But moving from a perennial playoff contender to here isn’t logical. There aren’t a lot of schools out there with the benefits LSU has. But Oklahoma, Clemson, Bama, Ohio st, Georgia are on the same level. Texas, Florida, Michigan, And A&M are all schools that have similar resources, and would require the coach to want to be in Louisiana more than where they are. There are a few schools that lsu gives a better chance of living, but may not fit in where the coach wants to be if they value that schools brand. Like USC, Miami, Nebraska , Notre dame.
