Did you guys hear Chris Blair’s calls of the Emery TD and Brooks Interception?

Two huge plays and this guy sounds as if it’s the spring game. No emotion whatsoever. Normally not one to care for this sort of thing, but when we look back at big events with this guy calling them, sad to say the TV announcers will have to suffice.

People still listen to the game on radio?

Yeah I heard it tonight and thought the same. I love Blair in baseball and think he does a great job with it. But basketball and especially football not so much.

There were flags on both plays IIRC. That kind of muffles the excitement of the moment.

I get what you're saying. His enthusiasm is not close to where it was his first year.

I’ve watched the youtube stream for a couple of games, it’s like a combination of watching how hot dogs are made and watching paint dry.

I didn't hear this but I think Blair does a great job. He may not show Hawthorne's level of excitement but I like him.

I've heard him get real excited and almost try not to get too carried away.

HEY NOW

I like Blair and Brady as a duo for basketball. I wish they'd give Hunt Palmer the baseball gig. It's an economic process but I don't like one guy doing all 3 sports.

Blair is the worst at calling big moments. I long for the day when they finally find his replacement. He sounds like he’s doing a job and not particularly excited about it.

I kinda agree with the one guy for al three sports thing.

Completely agree with you about Palmer. I like listening to him a lot. I listened to him last night after the game.

He did a few baseball games with Blair this past season. He does an excellent job, he really does.

I'm glad you mentioned him.

and no I'm not him.

Blair has a great voice and like others have said he’s very professional but when I’m listening on the radio I want Jim Hawthorne or Jim Henderson level passion. I haven’t listened to LSU or the Saints very much on the radio since those two retired.

I think baseball and football can be the same guy but basketball has a totally different rhythm and pace.

Blair is terrible at football. Had to pick up the wife at the airport and listened to the second half in the car. Both of us often wondered what happened on plays because he doesn’t really tell you what is happening. He is bad at including yardage on gains as well.

I agree on his enthusiasm too. Just hasn’t been a good fit at LSU.

After the game I had the radio on and heard the replays. They were pathetic. We clowned on Hawthorne but the emotion he showed was incomparable. Blair not so much.

I thought about posting this same thread. It was baffling to me. Probably one of the most disappointing football games that he has called

Yep this a common theme with him. I think he’s fine at the other sports though
