The offense had a terrible first half with lots of mistakes/teachable moments.
But have to say im surprised we're this high up the chart. Kudos to this awesome staff and the Defense.

Well they had zero net yards at Halftime that prolly helped

Last TD helped a lot. Most coaches would have gone out of their way not to score. I’d rather do what we did and let our backups run the offense.

I’m surprised Ole Miss is right there beside us. Didn’t watch them play Charlotte but the stats in their game looked much more even than ours with Tech

And most people around the water cooler today and on the Rant will say....
The defense was absolutely legit. I think Leavitt was pressing and not always taking what the defense was giving him. I also think the LT scheme was tough on our OLine, but it was a one-off, as we won't see that scheme anymore this season. Lots of teaching film from that game, but we still dominated.

Doesn’t Moo State run the same defense?

Net Success Rate is an odd measure in that it ignores turnovers, special teams, explosives, and penalties. It measures a team’s offensive success rate (see below) minus the opponent’s offensive success rate (i.e., how efficient a team was on offense minus how efficient the opponent was against the team's defense.)
A play counts as successful if:
1st down: gain at least 50% of the yards needed for a first down
2nd down: gain at least 70% of the yards needed for a first down
3rd or 4th down: gain results in a first down conversion.

It goes play by play. A first down play is considered successful if 50% of remaining yards are gained. That's usually 1st and 10 so 5+ yards is successful for most 1st downs. Then 2nd down is successful if 70% of the remaining yards are gained. So 2nd and 10 needs 7 yards to be successful, 2nd and 1 you pretty much need to convert, not sure if they measure by fractions of yards, I'm assuming not. Then 3rd and 4th down requires conversions to be successful.
Worth noting that if it's 1st and 10 and you score a 50 yard TD, or just simply gain 5 yards, either outcome has the same effect, it's simply considered a successful play added to the tally. So you can see disparities between the score and this stat if a team's scoring came primarily between a few big plays or turnovers. A team on defense can have 10 unsuccessful plays in a drive but get 1 successful play that happens to be a pick 6. The aggregate stat is going to show the team that got the pick 6 got dominated on the drive even though they ultimately were the ones that got a TD.
