in the two most important sports, Woodward failed hugely in both coaching hires.
Even if Woodward needed to go, Landry should not have been so public about it. The BoS would still have done his dirty work. And he definitely should not have ranted about agents and coaching contracts when LSU is in the market for a coach.

The real opportunist is Glenn guilbeau. He asked a sports question at a SNAP benefits presser because he’s banned from LSU athletics press conferences

Landry seemed excited when guilbeau asked the question. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was told to go

And he gave Jimbo the huge initial contract at A&M. Woody’s days of hiring coaches should be over

Absolutely not true. Jimbo got the huge extension after Woodward left.

And back in 2017, Jimbo’s was one of the most sought after coaches in the country. Woodward is an elephant hunter so he landed the best candidate available. And Jimbo’s “failure” at tamu was with admin and some boosters who didn’t see eye to eye with him.

And the hire of Kelly was widely accepted and agreed by the board, president and the governor. Woodward didn’t act alone

Woodward is considered one of the top AD’s in the country and is the most well qualified and capable men for the LSU job due to his enormous passion for LSU. He deserved better than what Little Landry did to him. He deserved plenty of latitude.

Landry then called a meeting with some of the BOS to discuss the financials of the contract. Woody wasn’t invited to that meeting
Who ultimately made the call on Woody?

At the time of jimbos firing had he still been on the original contact it would have been over $30 million and the largest buyout in history until this season. That’s how awful Scott’s contract was.

Jimbo was 5-6 at Florida state when he was hired at Tamu

he has been a punchline nationally since the jimbo contract and the massive contract to Kelly

I said Woodward gave Jimbo the INITIAL ridiculous contract. Which is 100% accurate.

Reading comprehension, my man.

Landry’s appointed BOS after discussing what to do with Landry. Could have been done quietly but Landry had to get his ego stroked and act like an arse to make himself feel better.
If he was truly concerned about taxpayers he could easily address a long list of issues actually costing us all money. LSU athletics does not.
Or he could look at ULL’s athletic dept which has received tax payer funds.

Seriously? I’m conservative as hell, but also extremely pissed off at this dipshit Cajun cartoon character governor for the way he dragged a shite ton of dirty laundry into the public. That motherfricker has embarrassed the shite out of LSU and Louisiana. Not to mention he certainly hasn’t helped the search for a good new coach.

This is not a Republican or Democrat issue. If you can’t see how he’s fricked this up then you’re not a smart person.

Landry and Landry only. And this comes from someone who would know and who I trust.

Landry told Scott Thursday afternoon to resign or get fired.

Why else do you think that presser Friday morning looked so awkward? Verge was bummed that his buddy got whacked for no good reason and the 2 BOS pawns knew that they were about to lie out of their arse with a room full of cameras on them.

I’m a conservative, but regardless of political affiliation, Landry is exactly the type of person who keeps Louisiana behind. The way this was handled was unprofessional to the biggest degree, and did not convey respect to his fellow man. It certainly is not the mark of good leadership.

As someone who has worked on admissions committee, Landry would have already failed professionalism and ethics.

Everything is personal and political. If the other guy is not politically lock step with you, burn down the house he resides in with him inside it.

Welcome to the new world order.

No. Landry is an opportunist and used a SNAP benefits presser to score a few soundbites at a guy he (and some of his donors) didn’t like.

This guy gets it. Folks are really overplaying Landry's involvement with the process.

Let it all play out, then we can all melt in unison if we get a really lame hire.
