Did HVL choose the portal or was it recommended?

I kinda feel like she was told she would not be playing pg moving forward and would be forced to duke it out for for the 2 spot. If that’s the case there’s a good chance Kim has a pg in mind in the portal. The offensive weapons we have coming back with a true distributor could be scary.

Probably a bit of both. And I think the Mich St PG is on deck,

I'm sure she chose it.

I think most honest people knew this year didn't go the way she hoped and expected.

Looking for a better fit makes a lot of sense.

I think it was probably a mutual decision. I feel like both sides could see the writing on the wall. It's not like it didn't work out at all, but it definitely was an experiment that wasn't as successful as was hoped.

Why would it be recommended to get rid of potential depth? We saw how that killed them this year.

And Georgia Amoore definitely to Kentucky.

Amoore and HVL playing for Kenny Brooks would make an interesting back court.

No HVL killed the team this year

How did she kill the team, exactly? They made an Elite 8 run with no depth off bench to spell minutes for majority of year.

This year was still a success.

I doubt she was told to leave, but I could see Mulkey laying out the reality that she would be in competition with FlauJae. Minutes would be limited.

FWIW, CKM said at her PC that she really hoped she would return. No one's talking about Poa coming back but if she gets just a little bit better she'll provide some of the depth we were missing this year.

She was getting burned at will by opposing PGs, turning the ball over a lot, and not shooting well.

Not sure how much of a role the plantar injury played in all of it, but she looked like she was stuck in the mud a lot.

All said, she gave a lot of effort.

She left on her own. Anyone thinking otherwise is an idiot.

I think it was mutual. Hailey is a better than what she showed this year but she was out of position and just didn't fit into the system, but she worked her arse off so you can't complain about that.

Flaujae and Mikaylah are 100% starting at the off guard spots next season which would send Hailey to the bench after they add a real PG from the portal. So I feel it was best for all parties. She will go somewhere her last year where she can play in her natural position and start,

I think Kim will obviously address the depth via the portal and make changes
