This. Spurrier might be the coach we all love to "hate"- but IF the kid did this he was wrong.
Like him or not.

This game was filled with emotion and all the players were pumped to high tilt. I don't like or hate coach Spurrier but a kid can't be pulling crap like that to an opposing coach...esp. a coach who has earned respect in the college ranks.

I am sure that was probably a one time incident but in a close game like last night, a 15 yarder for USLC can severely alter field position.

Do you people realize that we don't actually meant he said "Shut the frick up"? You couldn't see his face. He just was in the situation and Spurrier, the baby, got pissed and pointed. He could have said "You coach Cocks" for all we know, and Spurrier said back "I love Cocks!" with passion.

I actually thought it was part of what makes the college game so special. If that was the NFL both the coach and player would be about $50,000 lighter in the wallet and you would hear about it for a week on a million worthless NFL shows. It was just an emotional part of the game and shows how much both sides wanted to win. I don't understand why people still hate Spurrier, it's not the 1990's anymore and he's not running up the score on everybody else. The guy is a good coach and it's hard for me not to admire someone who says what he means and doesn't bow down to the political correctness crowd.

Spurrier talks more smack than any player, going way back to his years at Duke. If he wants to dish it out, than he should be ready to take it right back.

Maybe so, but the guy had Florida go on a run of dominance in the SEC like we may never again witness in the modern era of football. He was brash at times, but maybe with age he has mellowed out a bit. I also admire the fact he chose South Carolina and trying to build a program from absolutely nothing.

I agree with both. I know the man Logan played under in HS. I actually coached with him. I know he did not learn this from him. Adrenalin or not, you have to learn his place as a player and have respect.

In reference to the scene in Titans where BB points his finger in the face of the opposing coach, going by Boone's character in the movie, he'd benched BB for that.

Spurrier's attitude to LSU is a result of the shabby way he was treated when he came here to be interviewed for the head coaching job. Archer got the job but Spurrier was demeaned by the people who picked him up at the airport. They took him to the capital instead of the campus. He asked why because he wanted to go to the school. They said "BOY, you don't understand, this is Louisiana, politics runs everything including football."

Rejection and being insulted are the reasons for his hatred of LSU. He would rather beat LSU and embarass LSU than anyone else except perhaps FSU when he was at Florida.

But he has not beat the HAT yet.

I think this is why he always attempted to run up the score in the 1990's. I really cannot blame him for feeling betrayed by the LSU administration in charge of that coaching search. It seems like his dislike has faded a bit over the years after his success at Florida. There were rumors he chose coaching at South Carolina so he would be closer to Augusta so he could play golf there.

Yeah- I got that. That's why I said "IF" he did it.

I disagree with those who seem to believe doing something like this would be "cute".

Or not on my knees to please a man that for a solid decade did nothing but demean LSU in any way that he could. frick Steve Spurrier.

One of his many examples of douche- baginess was while he was still at UF. When Manning decided to stay at UT to try and get a NC, someone asked his thoughts. Response? Maybe he wants to see how many Gator Bowls he can go to. Mannings response, being about20 yrs. old, "Coach Spurrier is a great coach and we have great respect for UF and look forward to playing them this year." Spurrier's from Tn. Frick that a-hole.
