How bad was Frank's injury?

“Feleipe is going to be out for the year,” Mullen said regarding his starting quarterback.

When asked to explain the specific injury, the Florida coach said Franks, had a “dislocated ankle, with a fracture.”

Mullen noted that the recovery process should take six months and that surgery is set for next Monday.

Here is what Mullen had to say about Franks, who attended the team meeting Monday morning and noted he is as positive as can be, considering the situation.

“Obviously, it’s a tragic deal, to happen to anybody. You look at somebody at is a great leader on our team, that’s worked really hard to put himself in this position… To me, I saw the huge strides he made from last year to this year — in every aspect of his game. And so it’s always a tragic deal when that happens, for young guys.”

saw on the SEC network that this (UT game) will be his first start since freshman year in high school. Find that kind of hard to believe.

24/7 lists his only interested schools as Houston Baptist, Lamar, McNeese, and FLORIDA

Like I said, we miss you, Mac

I saw the same thing 167. I think it was on Marty and McGee and that he was the backup in high school for the QB at Kentucky(I think).

I would think that if he was a upgrade to FF he would have been starting instead

I think with tight coverage and some pressure his inexperience will show.

Lets see

1. Franks hurt in 3rd Quarter
2. Replaced by Red Shirt Kyle Trask
3. Florida Losing
4. Wins game

Yeah he will fold with pressure

Yeah it’s strange that this weekend will be his first start at QB since middle school. That is one patient kid.

His lack of overall snaps will bite him in the arse vs good teams.

He was a backup behind UH’s King in high school.

Trask played well, but that team was motivated by the loss of Frank due to injury. The whole team raised their level of play after that. Kentucky was dominating them up to that point 21-10. Florida scored 19 points and had 2 interceptions in the 4th quarter.

Well when they come into Tiger Stadium, their damn game will be raised again. Anybody thinks the gaytors lost something in franks is way off the mark, they gained a qb

He's a 5th yr senior with no playing time... a scrub. He will look like a scrub going forward.

he's a RS Jr.

And the reason for no playing time is he was hurt his FR and SO seasons.

I think he's better than Franks, but we'll find out soon enough.

He's not the "Dan Mullen style" QB.
Fitzgerald and Prescott could run. This guy is a prototypical pocket QB.
