No, NIL and the transfer portal ruined us. Kids used to dream of playing for LSU, Now it's free agency every year. They have no loyalty and honestly I cannot blame them. If some school is willing to shell out millions of dollars to a kid to play a game, I don't blame that kid for going for the money. It has ruined college sports.

We’ve been a mid to upper mid tier SEC program since the 2011 season, except for 2018/2019. The fans just want to be the top of the league consistently again, which is fair

Did that offense and defense and WB play make us think it should always be that way - like a cookie cutter easy bake oven jiffy pop poof here’s your unstoppable team.
This is
just more sports message board hyperbole. I know literally zero people who think that LSU should win every game by 50
or that we should be in the national championship game every year. People do expect a competitive product at the least, and at the most to be in the playoffs with the new system. We’ve invested too much into the program to not have that expectation.

If you tried to get that amount of talent in this era as we had in the 2019 team, you're looking at probably a roster north of $60M. It was a magical season and nothing close to it will be repeated again in my lifetime. College football also will never be the same as the pre transfer portal pre NIL era. A toast to the best season in the last real season of CFB!

In his defense, we had just beaten Florida by 10 points and the questions were like “why didn’t we beat them by more?” I could understand his frustration.

We should have with 5 INTs

No I think it’s much more of being a mediocre team 7 seasons straight now. No one realistically expects to have a national championship team every year. But LSU has not accomplished shite outside of beating Alabama in 2022. That’s one big win in 7 fricking years. It’s only natural to grow apathetic after so long.

Just wait until QB's start doing the 1 and transfer thing.

Pay me $XYZ or I'm going to wherever. SL could easily do that with slightly above average stats.
