Did 2019 ruin us?

What ruined people is not understanding how this era works. Spending money isn’t the end goal. You still need a team who has chemistry. We are going through those growing pains.

When you have a foundation like Ohio State, Miami, etc with coaches who have been there for awhile you are likely just supplementing for what you lost, keep the guys you know you wanna keep and let the others go. When it's your first season with a new school, you gotta build it. You gotta figure out who you wanna keep and thats hard if you don't know the roster that well. You're likely gonna make a few errors there. Now look at when Lane got here and when the portal window was about to close. He had to hit the ground running. It was always going to take more than one year with this. People were looking at the amount you spent on a roster. Well look at how many you replaced. How many more you had to add and so on. Did you overpay for some guys? Possibly, but when you're trying to be competitive, it was going to cost money. There's a lot of parity in the sport now. People have to wrap their minds around this new era of football.

Couldn't agree more. But the majority in here doesn't want to hear that!!

agree. we do not have a team with players/coaches who have been together 3 and 4 years with great chemistry and continuity.

this having to get so many through the portal is a crapshoot.

Some definitely believe that.

LSU is 9pts away from being 6-0 and about 2-3 plays away from that actually happening.

The injury bug will always suck and has been an issue this year.

right now the ball isn’t bouncing their way. I can’t recall another QB having more deflected passes being intercepted. For reference, UGA Stockton has had plenty on deflected passes fall into the hands of UGA receiver that wasn’t the target.

Point I’m making is LSU isn’t far off from being a really good team and scary for any team to play. If they can get to November 6-2 then they have a damn good shot to go on a run. Don’t forget, after this coming weekend, there’s gonna be a lot of 2 loss SEC schools.

2019 did not spoil us. 2019 was just the actual embodiment of everything we always believed our program could be with the right players and coaches. It had finally come true.

If anything “spoiled” us, it was the run from 2001-2011, esp 2003-2007. Where we sustained ultra elite status and were relevant every year.

We're spoiled.
