It's interesting to think if that could be the reason he's entering the portal. Maybe a move to defense was discussed?

Makes you wonder about guys like Trevon Diggs (Dallas Cowboys) who came into Alabama as a WR & Saban moved him to DB. He's now one of the best in the NFL, but what if the portal was around then? Would he have stayed at Alabama to play DB or left to go play WR somewhere else.

Edit: He actually played both ways for Bama in 2016? switched to DB full time in 2017.

Corey Webster.

Said he was really not happy about moving to CB at first but is forever grateful to Saban for convincing him to do so.

gotta try to put his name on some draft boards if he can

I wish Lee the best. He put in his time here and was not a problem. But I don't think it's reasonable to expect a guy to get on NFL draft boards when he rarely saw the field as a receiver during his time at LSU.

They’ve tried him at 3 different positions. Some times y’all just have to let kids go. The majority of kids that leave LSU are just not LSU caliber

He’s actually been one of the worst CBs in the league. Don’t let those interceptions fool you.

We tried Lee out on defense. It didn’t really work out. He’s just a guy who never found a spot that realy fit him.

Honestly at 6’2” 215, with his build, I woukd Have liked to see him at RB. Great athleticism, good size, and would have been a great pass catching RB. I’m surprised we don’t see more WR to RB moves given how big some of the WRs are these days and how many passes RBs are getting in modern offenses.

This is fair, I just don’t think he ever bought into being an OLB.

Why didn’t he ever play defense?

6 In

Look for several more IN over the next week, couple high school signees in February then open spots for Spring and carry over into next year

Am I the only one who sees all of this movement as 100% positive?

We need a clean slate and kids that fit the program. Not a program that fits the kids.

Ooh, one more thing - He should go to Nevada. Then they could have 3 Devonta Lee's.

Boy was he a stud in HS. Really thought he’d be a stud DB for us. Good luck young man.

I did too and have been pulling hard for him. I think his size is whats getting him. too big for receiver, too small for tight end, too big for DB, too small for DE. I really thought safety or linebacker might have been his position. It appeared to me that he was catching the ball pretty well with the exception of 1 game where he had a couple of drops. He seems like a fine young man and wish him the best.

With Devonta Lee entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, #LSU has had 5 WR's enter the portal this year.

Trey Palmer (Nebraska)
Alex Adams (Akron)
Koy Moore
Deion Smith
Devonta Lee

Palmer- 41 rec., 458 yds, 3td, 22 games

Adams- 2 rec, 11 yds, 0 td, 10 games

Moore- 27 rec, 248 yds, 0 td, 16 games

Smith- 11 rec, 186 yds,2 td, 6 games

Lee- 11 rec, 112 yds, 1 td, 34 games

Total of 88 games played for averages of 1.045 rec, 11.5 yds, 0.06 td's per game.

My thoughts are it hurts to lose Smith, but the jury has spoken on Palmer, Lee, and Moore.

You sound like the oldest relationship in the world, YOU (starting lineup) don’t want her or him (Lee) but you surely don’t want anyone else to have her or him. It’s as old as time, Lee put in his and it just quite didn’t work out. Thanks MR Lee and Good Luck!
