It’s not out of the realm of possibility but the risks are too high.

He won’t be drafted as high as most think because he has a ceiling due to his position.

Pure linebackers are rarely top 15 picks, much less top 10.
There’s the caveat to that and it concerns outside linebackers that are 6’5 and 250 lbs that can rush the passer against a right or left tackle but Devin isn’t that type of guy.

Do I think he’s a top 10 talent that can make an immediate impact, YES! But he won’t be able to come in and transform a NFL defense like a shut down corner or dominance pass rusher.

That being said, he’s already reached his draft ceiling and I see no monetary reason to stick around LSU. It would be best to go ahead, get the first round money and get to that second contract.
Now, if he feels like he has unfinished business and wants to stay and get his degree? Then SURE, please stay!

Ed's only a sophomore so would have to return anyways, but I agree all three starters return next year.

But once the predraft process starts and he finds out how early he would be picked, how much money he could make, etc then he will definitely go.

I'm pretty sure he is already 100% aware of this.

I think he would be the 1st EVER at LSU to NOT go pro as projected top 10 or 1st rounder.

I think Faulk (or Tre White) may be the closest examples of guys that stayed another year. But Faulk still only went in 2nd Round (likely due to size?) and no guarantee TW was a 1st rounder after his JR year.

Others?

Ed Alexander is a JR. And if you google his name there are several articles about his NFL draft stock.

I’m not saying he will or should go. But he definitely could go, if he chose to do so.

His position is a brutal one on the body. Injury is easy to come by at mlb. No way he returns after he goes through the predraft process, he has earned the right to go get paid.

Somehow Bama convinced Damien Harris to return for senior year as running back!!!! This is unheard of.

Ye$, $omehow he did...

That is what is absolutely sickening about them. It’s not even remotely the same as Devin White potentially coming back for state pride (however remote that dream may be). Harris is from KENTUCKY and has already won champion$hip$.

He did the same thing on facebook live, said he is happy and isnt hurting and wants to finish school first...However them dollar signs are gonna lure him away from that idea

However he is one of those players that would stay, just the way he presents himself

He’s a projected top 10 pick

-He'll will be next year too!
-Maybe he really loves LSU and the college life!
-If you're scared of injury, you're more likely to get
injured!
-Frick the NFL (Money isn't everything)!
-Either way, he's a baller and one of my favorite tigers
ever (Don't expect it, but would be awesome)!

If he really wanted to come back, he could get an insurance policy. Although I’m not sure it would match his projected #5 pick.

So it still may be risky.

But letting him carry the ball against Rice is the dumbest idea ever. No way he could get injured playing another full season at linebacker...

He can always go back to school when his NFL career is over.

If you didn’t understand that, you just simply can’t read. That wasn’t even the young culture speak.??

If a player like him comes back and we’re successful it will give the younger players a glimps of what finishing out college can be. It would have a domino effect on all the others who are late rounders.

I would go, but you can’t duplicate Tiger Stadium.
