Was gone after 03 season, but not sure who that was.
One clutch play I recall besides BGM of course is the crucial TD vs OM 03 that gave us some separation in a intense game; remember he blew by the left corner into EZ we were overlooking and MM glided perfect pass into his arms in stride beginning 4th qtr I believe!

Yeah, that was a terrible stretch for Lil Nickie after the BG Miracle to beat UK then the blowout to Gumps, eaked out the 1 pt win to OM and terrible loss to Hogs and UT in Cotton Bowl.
Guess DH was not playing those last games but hey, set up well for the next season pretty well!

So cool that #19 caught Brees' pass to break #19's record.

Devery was one of the really nice guys in the NFL.

He was a player who made big plays in big games and had zero ego - a rarity these days! He was one of my favorites.

I still remember that long TD against Ole Miss in 2003 that ended up being the winning score against Eli and the gang to take the West and go on to the NC. Now that was a hostile environment...

A bud and I were standing around my grandparent's front yard when a young fellow was walking a cool dog down the road in front of us.

Being a dog lover, we struck up a quick conversation only to find out that Devry was a block or so away at his girlfriend's parent's place at a BBQ. The youngster offered to get us a autograph so we gave him our best LSU caps and off he went.

15 minutes later he came back and told us that DH and the family invited us to meet him and have a bite of meat. Having been around people who were in the public eye a few times before, I didn't want to impose so we turned him down. I also couldn't be sure if the youngster's offer was sincere from the family so it just seemed like the cool thing to do was to respect their privacy.

Less than a month later I spoke with someone else from that household and found out that that's just how they BBQ'ed. I didn't realize they consider it as something that could bring a neighborhood together. I apologized due to feeling that I might have come off as antisocial and only caring about a little autograph. I explained that we were just respecting their privacy and would have went if we would have realized that the offer was so sincere.

Just figured that I would throw this out there. They were good people.

Never thought he'd last so much longer than Michael Clayton. Great career. Kept getting better
was thinking the same thing. who would have thought Devery would have a much more productive pro career than either Clayton or Josh Reed?
