Excited to see what he can do. 6 foot 6 245 has a 98 mph fastball and a wipeout slider plus has a change up and a cutter as well as a curve ball. Him and Schmidt I am most excited

You're not excited for Evans?

Sounds like a starter if all of that is true.

He could play a key part in a run for #9

Hopefully we get some more lefties on the roster we need more.

The legend of this guy will grow all off-season to the point that he can't possibly live up to it. A month from now he will grow 3 more inches and add a knuckleball

Evans has elite stuff and great command. Sheerin has a lot of potential but I would expect him to be a bullpen guy until he can show the consistent command it takes to be a starter.

There are two starting spots wide open, so I’m sure a few guys will get consideration.

Sherrin will likely be right there with Schmidt, Noot and any incoming transfers. If Cowan returns, he will also have a good shot at one.

And then there are others who could get a look if they take a step forward. Ware looked great in the Fall, so maybe he can get it together. He certainly didn’t help himself down the stretch, but he has stuff if he can get his head right and get it under control.

Williams has promise, especially being a lefty. He hasn’t shown he can go that many innings yet, but maybe he takes that step this offseason.

Could easily see Sheerin in Shores' late season role.

I’m kinda hoping to see Rizy step into that role, but you can’t have enough guys who can come in and shake up hitters by just blowing their fricking doors off.

Someone on a podcast said he was killing it in summer league ball…. Those numbers aren’t exactly killing it. The walks mainly.

But all in all he still has elite level stuff and if he can get his command down he will definitely be a weekend starter. Stuff is too good not to be.

he had 109 SO to 32 BB as a freshmen.

Had one of the best K/BB ratios in the country in 2024

I think people are confused by your phrasing.

When you say you are most excited about him, I'm guessing you don't mean that you expect him to be our best pitcher.

Those numbers are good anywhere. I think he could be a Saturday or Sunday guy. He hurt his leg in a basketball game, so no arm issues. Not saying his going to be another Eyanson, but you my be looking at a weekend starter. Jay may not hit the portal for a weekend starter with Evans, Sheerin and a developed Schmidt.
