Brady will develop freshmen quarterbacks like nothing we've never seen before.

No doubt coming from here but rattler was the number 1 qb coming out last year and it one thing for J hurts to come in for his freshman year but to bring in another transfer can’t feel great for him. So I would monitor it if King went to OU

King is obviously interested in LSU. Whether LSU is actually interested in King is another matter

This will be like that Penn State QB transfer we got years ago who played scout team QB for us. Brennan is better

Do I think Brennan can be Top 5 in the nation in total QBR? Be tops in the nation in points accounted for while also scoring 50 total TD’s while missing 3 games? No I don’t.

Peter Parrish has been here for a year as well.
Were you saying Brennan has been here for a year so we don't want Burrow a couple of years ago?

Because he only has one year left. He’s not coming here without a guarantee to start. Which means Brennan is certainly out the door losing two years of him
If he comes here and starts that means the coaches don't think Brennan can get it done in the SEC, so who cares if we lose an extra year for a guy the coaches are telling you can't cut it here?

Sure, he could be awesome. But that one outcome is the only good one out of many other bad ones.

You don't get to the top by playing it safe. If the coaches don't think Brennan is the guy for the job more so than King, then you go and get the better player.

I'm team Brennan and think he'll beat out any guy that wants the spot, but if somehow King comes here and wins the starting job, be prepared for another ridiculous offense. Remember Baker Mayfield to Kyler Murray? Well this would be part two, IF he managed to win the job.
Wait, so you think Brennan's offense will be better than Baker and Kyler Murray?

Lol

Yea let’s turn down a guy that can be a Heisman contender for Myles Brennan

Newsflash guys; multi threat QBs win titles, not Myles Brennan.

Brennan is old guard. Loyalty blah blah blah.

He doesn’t fit the profile of what is winning national championships.

This is a new era. LSU can draw the best of the best. If it means taking a transfer every few years like Oklahoma then so be it. Honestly that is almost safer than wasting years on development

Some people around here don't seem to understand that college football is a huge business and that this loyalty thing doesn't always exist the way that we would all like it to.

I agree luny. I understand there’s some degree of loyalty. But do they owe him any more than the opportunity to compete for the job?

Hell no!

I think what you’ll prob see happen is LSU tells King the same thing. Come in and compete and if for some reason he doesn’t win, they’d give him reps at RB or WR or wherever

It’s going to be difficult to outright offer him the starting spot but I think they can kind of nudge him in the right direction.

The other angle here is that Orgeron also has "loyalty" and an obligation to the other 80+ scholarship players to put the best players on the field. He has a reputation of being an elite talent evaluator and has done an outstanding job of roster construction so far. If he thinks we need to bring in another QB, then so be it.
