Hell, I can be an elite OC if I had Jayden Daniels.

Denbrock has always been a pretty vanilla oc.

His qb is arse. Crazy he got him this far.

Now chip Kelly has called an outstanding game.

He had a good opening scripted drive. Problem for Denbrock is he’s never been able to adjust during games

Yep. It was hilarious reading all the crap about Denbrocks outdated scheme in 2022. The light bulb came on for Daniels and he made Denbrock look a lot better than he is. The scheme didn’t magically change.

Denbrock is ok but nothing special

It was a completely unsustainable opening drive.

You’re simply not going to get to 3rd and 4th and short and use your QB to run up the gut for first downs for a whole game. It was impressive to watch but my first thought was, “they won’t do that again”

Maybe having a freak like JD with 2 elite WRs made Denbrock look better than he was.

Explain him helping cincy get to the playoffs and making their offense look good

I wouldn’t, but it isn’t because I don’t think he’s a good OC. This bullshite is what he really wants to run and it won’t work here. Look at what he ran at Cincinnati and look at this ND team. THIS is Denbrock’s scheme, not what you saw here, especially in 23.

What he ran here doesn’t look the same for a reason. He left FOR A REASON. He left because he wants to run this scheme, as limited as it is and reliant on the run game and maintaining an advantage all game, every game. I wouldn’t want him back if it meant running this offense.

Indictment on the OSU DC

6 in the box on an 18 play drive with no forced pressure versus a QB who runs for as many TDs as he throws, with no real weapons at WR

It took them 20 plays to send an extra defender when they have ND outmanned at every position

Malpractice

frick No

Hes never getting another JD the rest of his coaching career. And thats obviously the only thing he knows how to do. Catch the defense off guard, with a QB keeper

You saw what a pitiful offensive unit he left behind. WRs couldnt time their routes effectively. Cant run the ball. Your star WR cant get separation. Your OLine whiffs on its assignments. Thats all on Denbrock. Those are his players

Dunham was our best skills player, only because Denbrock left before he arrived

He’s good and is capable of moments of greatness, but his scheme (not really what he ran here with JD) will never allow him to be consistently great. It doesn’t elevate players to be better than their individual talent level. It doesn’t create mismatches across the field. There are OCs who can do that.

I'm not saying he's a bad OC, but who did they play at Cincy? Once they played a good team like Bama, they scored 6 points.
