Hooker's first season at Tenn he threw for 2945 yds 31 Tds 3 INTs 9.8 ypa 68.5 % comp 182.0 RTG (Bryce Young had a 167.5 RTG last year) Rushing 620 yds 5 TDs
And went 7-6. That’s the point. We want to win ball games. Y’all arguing stuff that is less important than the W-L column.
But for arguments sake, JD went 2774, 7.6 yards per attempt, a 143 passer rating, 16 TDs, and 11 TDs for 818 yards… oh and yea we made the SECCG while beating bama at home for the first time since forever. That’s what I care about. I wanna win, y’all just wanna fuss against our players

If you are looking for 15-0, then the odds say that ain’t happening.
Expecting the QB play to be better, why not?

This is not a knock on JD. It's a response to your statement that JD had a better 1st season. As for record it's a team sport. Tenn was 7th in the nation in scoring last season. Hooker didn't play D.

Now it’s a team sport, but multiple people on here have made it seem as though the defense was the reason we’ve won the games. He needs to be better. He has to be better. But Jesus, since when making the SECCG during year one of a 39 player rebuild not enough?

So it would appear that Kelly has already crowned JD as his starting QB. The QB competition looks alot like last season where the only criteria was fastest time in the 40 yard dash.
Don't get trampled by the mad dash of QBs and receivers who were misled that LSU would in fact have a modern vertical passing game as they try to catch on with an offense that gives them a platform to showcase their talents to the NFL.
If this was the plan we should just kept Les and his exciting and explosive smashmouth offense.

Is this from the same guy who didn’t realize how good the defenses and coaching are in the SEC?

I'll play devil's advocate and let's just say JD doesn't make the improvements, are you going to come here and admit he wasn't what you thought he was? Probably not. I will gladly eat my words if JD makes a huge jump next year and goes something like 3800-4000 yds and 35+ TD's, that means the team should have great success. All I'm saying is, I'm somewhat skeptical because he has several things to improve on and it's a lot harder to make big jumps in that situation ( not impossible though ).

Actually, you are just misunderstanding it. When I compare the decline of the US Republic to that of the Roman Republic it doesn’t mean I think Visigoths are going to sack our cities. It just means that I think there are parallels between those two.
Same with LSU 2022/2023 and 2018/19. There are a lot of parallels.
- An offensive line returning all starters.
- A returning QB with a lot of upside.
- A WR group lousy with NFL talent.
- A very talented defense returning (including portal guys this time).
I’m expecting a team that wil seriously challenge for the national championship.

Daniels never threw for 3000 yards in a season.

Why do all the JD haters act like passing TD’s/yards are the only points/yards that count? Like jfc, JD was responsible for 28/29 total TD’s and like 3800 yards of total offense in his first year in a new offensive system with 3 freshman OL… the dude found a way to get yards while rarely turning the ball over and everyone is acting like he was trash or something just bc his offensive production wasn’t all through the air. It’s asinine
