He has a high ankle issue he's been soldiering through.

Amazing to me that these LSU men have given us what we’ve craved for so much - a #1 team and a finger in Saban’s eye. They broke the 8 year streak that they inherited. And fans on here are absolutely trashing them. I don’t get it.

Our Negatigers are just like their bastard step brothers and sisters the Gumps. Sub human filth lower than snakes and pond scum. Worthless POS with no empathy in their scales (as they have no backbones).

Been injured all year. Was hurt in the Texas game and it’s progressively gotten worse all season with the latest big blow coming against Auburn.

NEWs FLASH: Delpit has been the biggest disappointment with defense. Injury not a factor with him, as 85% of the best is still one on the best players in the league. Really he has been focused on pre season high draft hype. He needs to stay. Stevens is the vocal leader of the D. Thank God for Dline. Linebackers been so polarizing. It’s either greatness or WTF? Shelving is our wolf lurking with sheep. He does so much behind the scenes.
New stressful way to watch LSU play, hoping the D can hold!
Loving it though but man these games have been so dynamic.. just results in a new way to watch, hope Defense plays well and just know the O will move the ball. The opposite of past 10 years!
Go tigers.

he missed some time in preseason with a camp injury, and there was speculation that it was either an ankle or hamstring (depending on which BR radio guy you believed), and that it could linger a while.
see this thread from August.

Delpit needs to sit the next 2 games and get healthy for Georgia

Agreed. He needs to ride the line to heal up....
And maybe watch some how-to-tackle videos

Let’s announce every injury in detail. I know other teams may game plan against our weakness, but at least the fanboys on The Rant will get their answers

Well if he's hurt that bad, then he needs to sit because there are times during this season when he has been a huge liability out there.

It has been discussed in the past. He has an injury in camp then got hurt again in the Texas game then hurt again in the Auburn game.
In addition to obvious injury related issues he has been playing deeper when his better position is a SS/box safety.
The hype may be a part too.
So the correct answer is:
Injured
Playing out of his more natural better position
And possibly paying to much attention to the hype and the draft.
All of the above and possibly some other factors as well.

understand Delpit wasn’t tackling great early in the season,
Didn’t O say he hurt his shoulder in the first quarter of the Texas game too? He made that great open field tackle and then never looked that good again.

They need to rest him till he is well. They are doing him a disservice putting him on the field when he is not well.
