If we make it to Omaha and go two and Q after this season I’ll be happy as a pig in shite.

Making Omaha would be so far beyond our expectations just a few weeks ago. That would be incredible just to get there this season.

Let's beat UNC first.

I don't think it matters. We would have to play them regardless. Very competitive against them in those 7 losses. Crazier things have happened.

We were on the hard side last year as well. It just makes it more rewarding in my opinion. Gotta beat the best to be the best.

Gotta love the rant. The first page has threads titled

Yet 2 and Que will have the fire Jay regards out in full force. Hell, not making Omaha will. Of course, it wouldn’t be the rant if reasonable discussions were the norm.

Those two titles are not incongruent. One is discussing our path TO Omaha, the other is discussing the bracket IN Omaha.

LSU hasn't made back to back Omaha trips since 2009

Why don't we see which of the teams on this side of the bracket even make it to Omaha before we make that call?

In 2023 - only 5 of the top 8 seeds even made it out of the regional round.

In 2022 - 6 made it to supers but only 2 made it to the CWS.

At this time of year just about anything can happen. It could be a top-heavy CWS like 2023 and 2021, or a series of upsets in the earlier rounds like 2022.

Great insight. Will you be sharing other valuable information along the way?

I know you probably aren't aware of this, since you gave up on the season before the regular season ended last year, but Wake Forest and Tennessee were on LSU's side of the bracket in Omaha.

We played one of the best baseball I've ever witnessed against Wake. It was awesome. You should have seen it, but I'm sure the Roogaroo were playing that day.

Is LSU the same team they were when they played UT and Ark? Seems not. I honestly do not think either will make it out of their super anyway.

It's a discussion board dickweed.

You said it much better than I would have. Thank you!

Did the LSU women's basketball team have to beat the best to win the national title? Nope.

Does anyone care? Nope.

It's okay to pull for some upsets.

1) don’t look ahead to Omaha and enjoy the ride

2) remember having to be Oregon State back to back after the season they had. that was a “tough bracket” too

I wouldn't say I'd be "happy". But they would have definitely exceeded all expectations from a little as two weeks ago for a team that was until late April on pace to be one of the worst LSU teams in 40 years or so.

This team isn't THAT good. They have just found the switch in the last couple of weeks. Aside from that, they won exactly ONE series against an opponent that reach the NCAA Tournament (I guess two if you count beating South Carolina twice). Hopefully they can ride this hot streak for as long as possible. But even being 2 seed they have already exceeded reasonable expectations from 2 weeks ago.
