Shand and Swinson are being listed as defensive ends. Jacqueline Roy has declared for the draft. Not much depth behind our starting defensive tackles. Jalen Lee perhaps.

Maason Smith should be wild.

Maason Smith represents potential. As someone once said, “That means he hasn’t done it yet.” We don’t know if Smith will be good, great or adequate.

Wingo is great! We know that. Smith will at least be adequate, and Guillory is solid in the rotation. We need two more big guys, and we need one of them to be more than just solid.

Ever thought if they could make a NG out of Kardell?

He’s soft. Do you think soft works better at NG?

If we can stay healthy, we should be fine at D-line honestly.
That interior is unreal with Smith/Wingo. Plus multiple guys that can eat up blocks like Reed, Guillory, Hand.
We really need the edge guys to step up and I think they will be. Wiggins keeps being talked about as an athletic freak and Savion played well when given a shot this year.

We lost a lot with Roy, Gaye and Olujari all moving on to the draft. I was hoping Roy would stay. Wingo and Smith will be solid and depth is being added. With the experienced guys leaving, in the old system the lack of depth left by Orgeron would really be concerning this year. The portal is changing the game

Definitely not confident on that Dline especially with Masson Smith coming off the injury. Fitzgerald West definitely needs to get in that Dline rotation and hopefully we can start recruiting better at this position. The portal is saving us right now with ample bodies but we need studs coming out of high school to get to the elite level.

We are getting some help on the recruiting and transfer but we are losing some good ones to NFL. So I think LSU needs to continue to go get D-line guys and hopefully develop them.

I say D-line will be worse this year because we are losing some good baws. The thin D-line definitely showed in the aTm & UGA games. Hopefully the guys coming in are good run stoppers.

I sure hope I'm missing someone

i thought we run a 3/4? Should be SDE NT WDE Buck/LB

the Two DE's should be 5'4-6'5 290-300lb guys... the NT gotta be 330ish
Not a bad Idea to move Cardell there, even ten snaps a game would help.

the buck is a 6'3-6'4 250 guy with wheels (sack artist) the other three are run stoppers (guys you dont move) its a numbers game and why Aranda was so good, its 4 against 3..

I keep seeing people say we run a 3-4 but not sure where that comes from. We basically run a hybrid 4-2-5.

DL - 2 interior DTs, 1 SDE, and a jack/edge rusher.

LB - 2 ILBs

DB - 2 outside corners, slot corner, 2 safeties.

I guess if we're playing some cover 1 against a run-heavy team, cheat the SS into the box and play the jack slightly off the line, it could look like a 3-4.

Will Smith even be back to pre-injury ability, form and condition?
