Maybe someone who has played the game can chime in as to why he gets hit so hard. Even his outs are loud. Admittedly I didn’t play baseball but he just seems to get hammered when he pitches.

Flat fastball that sits mid to low 90s is going to get squared up a lot in college.

His wind up is faster with fastball than off-speed pitch. Watch him next game

Throws a flat fastball and always seems to throw it over the heart of the plate. Doesnt work the edges. I almost wonder why they didnt try a slightly different arm slot this offseason to see if that would help

Fastball is flat as hell. Get the right angle and a 12 year old could take him yard. That’s why you’ve seen a healthy dose of offspeed when he’s on the mound.

Absolutely no movement on his fastball and not enough velocity

Or work with him on a new grip to get some movement on it

The HR last night came on a 0-1 slider that was belt high and didn’t break much.

He needs to learn the sidearm throw like Louis Coleman did. It changed everything for him.

Spin rate sucks. Plenty of MLB relievers with short choppy deliveries that throw 93 or 94 and it’s pretty flat.
The spin changes the look of it

If that’s true and no one on the coaching staff has noticed that I’m concerned

You could read the UL Players lips in the dug out after the HR and he said something along the lines of “that 4seam is meat”
