We have all the parts or athletes to win a national championship but I believe it now is a coaching issue to get all of this to work together. The biggest part of that is at qb. I trust the coaches and do believe they have what they need to win.

Oh I'm not going that far. Top 10 team sure, but not championship favorites. Not next year.

has LSU ever been the championship favorite entering the season in any year weve won it all? That doesn’t mean shite.

The 4 year cycle is the 4 year cycle. Trust the science.

Daniels coming back will limit what the offense can accomplish, so the response is we will not be the championship favorite next year.

I never said anything about nor mentioned championship odds. You put Penn State and Clemson as likely top 10 teams ranked above us. That’s pretty silly.

Not sure about Clemson, but Penn State should be better than LSU next year. Their 3 best players this year are true freshmen and they made the Rose Bowl. And they got a 5 star stud replacing Clifford.

Does the last regular season game not count or something? Because that shite was embarrassing.

I don't know if LSU will be a top 10 team next year but that list is laughable.

quote:

Alabama
Georgia

Those are hard to find fault with.

quote:

Tennessee

Did you see what they looked like without Hooker? They will be without Hooker next year. They will fall back down to the pack in the east.

quote:

Oregon

They couldn't even win the PAC-12 with the best version of Bo Nix to ever play college football. Nix is gone next year.

quote:

USC

quote:

Ohio State
Michigan

Also probably end up top 10. Ohio State will be breaking in a new QB though.

quote:

Clemson

quote:

Texas

Sark may end up on the hot seat by the end of next season.

quote:

Penn State

They could very well end up in the top 10 again. LSU should end up ahead of at least 3 and possibly 5 or more of those teams by the end of the regular season.

Look at who beat us. They were all able to take advantage of our main weaknesses- depth on the DL, experience on the OL, and speed and depth in the secondary. UT stretched us vertically and that opened everything else up for them. A&M wore on us using the run game and then took advantage of us being down our best CB to hit a couple of huge deep shots. UGA is good enough to take advantage of any weakness.

I’m not going to say everything will be flipped to strengths, but there’s good reason to believe that all three of those areas will be improved next season. DL depth is being bolstered along with Smith coming back. The Secondary will have more overall depth and talent, especially at CB, instead of the patchwork we had this season, and I don’t think the staff is done adding there. The entire OL is returning (how often does that happen) and has two freshman anchors who we all know should be much better to start next season. This will be the most depth and talent we’ve had on the OL for a long time, especially if one or two of the freshmen are ready to contribute in year one.

This whole post started out talking about preseason expectations. There’s no way to know where we will end up because of injuries, matchups, etc., but sportswriters and the media will look at this team and put them in the top 10 to start the season because of how much we overachieved this last season, how much roster continuity there is, and the class we have coming in. Couple that with a little SEC bias and it’s going to happen.

I would insert Utah in the list.

Spin the wheel again and get some new selections.

Better not lose to FSU first game on the season. They're going to be very talented next year and that game will set the tone for the season. Will be a top 10 match up. They raiding the portal right now and looking at the top players in it seems like most have FSU at the top.

Their obvious philosophy is attack the portal and don't care as much about HS recruiting. They can instantly build a playoff team in the portal and that's why they're trying to do. This is going to be one of the most talented opening games LSU has played in awhile. Both teams will be super talented.

Special Teams improvements will be the linchpin to being top 10 vs top 20. We need a coach singularly focused on Special Teams to be a consistent contender.

LSU is in that space with Texas & Clemson where they will be on these list simply because of talent. The national media respects Jayden Daniels way more than lsu fans do. LSU will return basically its whole offense. They are going to be highly thought of.

Only a fool would post a pre-season Top 10 without having a clue who is returning on each team.

Take Tennessee, texas, and Penn out over LSU. The rest I can agree with. I just don’t see those being over.

Bama and UGA have more talent at most places than we do especially on defense. At best, we will be the third rated SEC school.

I say we go to Orlando in Sept, 2023 rated #10. IMO, winning in Orlando then is what we need to do IF we are to be a cfp contender.
