one of his worst performances
The dude trys hard but he's high school caliber and has no business starting for a respected SEC program.
If Coach O gets a brain transplant in the next 10 days maybe he'll see the light and start Myles

I like Etling. I don't want our backup to start playing. But this is just stupid. You posted exactly one stat. While it is great that he has thrown 10 passes this year that have wound up going for more than 40 yards including YAC, that one stat alone does not make him a good quarterback. Why do you absolutely refuse to acknowledge that this one statistic isn't enough to carry your argument? It's ridiculous. But go ahead. Post that stat in every thread started about him for the next 12 days.

I agree here. And I want to add that Canada is doing an excellent job of working with what we have on offense (a "servicable QB", a very young offensive line who struggles to pass protect, and good running backs).
He’s was given a bunch of terrible ingredients and managed to make Boudin with it. Sure it’s tasty in the short term but you can’t eat it forever and hopefully we can have a better line and QB next year.

We would not have had Patterson, because he would be hurt sooner than he is now because our o- line sucks.

Ok here’s another stat he’s currently carrying the 3rd highest passer rating in LSU history trailing only Mett and Jruss and ahead of Hodson Mauck Rohan and Flynn. Btw you have any facts to add or do you just think your ignorant opinion superceeds reality?

A few? 9 of his 13 completions were to WRs.
And since when does it matter who or where completions are made? Bama used to live on the screen play within 5 yards of the LOS. Just get the ball to your skill players, whomever they may be.

passer rating
You keep arguing this without acknowledging that his rating is inflated because he's gets credit for an 11 yard td pass when all he did was option pitch the ball forward on a shovel pass. Those yards and td really help the "rating". Same with a quick swing pass to a running back who catches the ball 5 yards deep in the backfield and has great blocking by receivers in front of him so he scampers 60 yards. Same with a 6 yard hitch route that an Auburn receiver broke for the interception and missed so it turned into another 40 yard pass completion for the qb.
The rating is inflated.

He's going to be high up on that list just because he doesn't throw interceptions, which is something part him and part that we run all the time. Good for him on that, but he has minimal play making ability. If we are ever in a situation to rely on him to drive down the field, under time pressure, to score a game winning touchdown, it is going to feel like a miracle for him to pull it off.

I am one of his biggest critics against his inconsistency, but I will acknowledge a decent game last week. Right now, I believe he's 14th in the country in QBR from ESPN. Could be wrong. That's not bad.
My issue is people like Madking who were hiding 3 weeks ago all of a sudden comparing him as an overall QB to the likes of Davey, Russell, Mett, and Flynn and failing to see what he really is, hit or miss. Passes over 40yds, 50yds or whatever can be twisted to fit your narative. He hasn't lost us games, but hasn't done a whole lot to put us past opponents either. He doesn't throw INT's, but he has been fortunate that he doesn't have 6 right now. DB's have dropped passes he left in their laps and he's been bailed out by the same WR's some of you bash for drops. It goes both ways.
If he can get more consistent and build on what he did last week, we stand a better chance that I envisioned when the season started with him as #1. History with him just tells me he won't.

ya think? he knows nothing about eye test of reading defenses or types of passes thrown like you just said. I guess gary danielson who backs our arguments an ex NFL Qb is a moron also!

Like he did to end the first half vs Auburn?

right and we will need him to extend drives against bama with a CONSISTENT intermediate pass game all day long. can he do that?

yeah what a great drive. Only needed Auburn to drop an easy interception to score on it.

He can "lose you a game" when the coaches have to devise a game plan scheming around the inability to complete intermediate passes. I say this fully understanding that our passing woes are a three part problem: QB, pass protection, and receivers who can get open and catch the ball. My point was, just because the QB isn't turning the ball over doesn't mean he is "not beating us".
yup
