How did he do vs Bama last year?

Canada has adjusted the run game. We aren’t really mauling people anymore we are letting them come upfield and taking them where the wanna go. You could see it really well on Guices big runs around the tackle area. It’s called a stretch or zone split block if I’m not mistaken and I wouldn’t put it past Saban to be ready for it but it’s something different and it doesn’t require us to outmuscle the opponent so it could pay off for us and actually give us a run threat vs Bama.

Etling has completed 10 total passes to wide receivers in the past 3 games. 120 of his 200 yards vs Ole Miss were by a pass that traveled 5 yards behind the LOS or to Foster Moreau in a complete busted coverage. Ole miss dropped NINE PLAYERS into coverage and Etling bailed out of the pocket after less than a second. On a two man rush. He can't progress through more than one read, he puts his head down and runs far too early, and he panics at pressure that isn't even there.
A lot of good knowledge in the above post.
How many passes did Etling complete against Ole Miss that traveled more than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage? I recall the wide open play action pass catch and run that went for like 60 yards. Anything else? A swing pass that Darrell Williams ran for 60 yards and a shovel pass that went for like a 12 yard TD really padded that QB rating.

last week was arguably one of his worst performances.
Except it was literally one of his best?

Yal keep bitching about his arm and who he throws too. Wtf does that have to do with anything smartass?
He's a QB.

He makes more big plays with the weakest supporting cast in the past 20 years
Has a top NCAA RB and 4-5 star recruits across the board. Chark will be an NFL WR and I believe Sullivan and Davis will join him without question. That's devoid of talent? It can easily be argued that our skill players are more talented than the 2011 Offense.

so stfu and enjoy him
I will always enjoy a win for the Tigers but I don't need to lie to myself to do so. Etling is a great competitor but he will never be a good QB.

Danny won’t lose you a game but he won’t win you one either. Some years that’s good enough but this team isn’t good enough in other facets of the game. I think he’s doing the best with what he has. With the exception of Bama, LSU can win playing that style for the rest of the season.

Whoa.... quit acting like a punk little kid who got his ball stolen from him....
How many of those passes were in the air over 40 yards?????

That’s so incorrect. Did you watch the game Saturday? The play calling had everything to do with everyone els not Etling. First we tried some regular step drops and we were giving up pressure before Etling hit his back foot so we went to the 3 step quick game and our WRs dropped 2 in a row 1 for a TD then he went to the swing route and we had success. The playcalling had absolutely nothing to do with Etling.

It’s the exact same throw he made to Williams it’s the exact same play.
Wait what??? He threw a touch swing pass to a wide open RB. A bubble screen is thrown to a multiple WR set where one WR blocks and the other catches it off his block. If Etling threw that same pass on a bubble screen it gets picked off and returned for a TD.

How many of the other guys passes did? Why does Etling get shite for screen passes but Every QB under Jimbo lives off of them and nobody says shite. Why did everyone bitch and bitch under Cam that “we never throw to backs and tight ends” now that we do yal are bitching about that. Why don’t you do some explaining? The stats and facts are on my side the burden of proof is on you and your kind yet I’ve not seen a single fact produced by Etlings ditractors, not a 1.

(13:00 - 1st) Danny Etling pass complete to Darrel Williams for 63 yds to the Miss 5 for a 1ST down
(8:44 - 3rd) Danny Etling pass complete to Darrel Williams for 11 yds to the LSU 44 for a 1ST down
(4:00 - 3rd) Danny Etling pass complete to Darrel Williams for 18 yds to the Miss 43 for a 1ST down OLE MISS Penalty, Unnecessary Roughness (15 Yards) to the Miss 42 for a 1ST down
(10:24 - 4th) Foster Moreau 60 Yd pass from Danny Etling (Connor Culp Kick)
152 of his 200 yards were either on a pass that barely traveled 5 yards to Darrel Williams or on the busted coverage play to Moreau that most high school qb's complete 99% of the time. Every pass I listed to Williams was caught BEHIND THE LOS. Here is a link to every throw LINK

He can "lose you a game" when the coaches have to devise a game plan scheming around the inability to complete intermediate passes. I say this fully understanding that our passing woes are a three part problem: QB, pass protection, and receivers who can get open and catch the ball. My point was, just because the QB isn't turning the ball over doesn't mean he is "not beating us".

I agree here. And I want to add that Canada is doing an excellent job of working with what we have on offense (a "serviceable" QB, a very young offensive line who struggles to pass protect, and good running backs).

He's better than Harris, Jennings or Jefferson, but that's still not saying much. He's hardly any great shakes at QB.

I have not brought the p sny other QB... so can you answer my question???? How many of Etlings passes you keep bragging about were over 40 yards in the air????
