Do you agree?

He said will still be the deepest team and Kelly has ever had and most talented.

I did kind of chuckle because I’ve been reading him for a decade and I’m pretty sure he’s never said we will be worse off in a position group the next year.

Not even close at OT.

But maybe the rest, sure.

It always looks good in the off-season.

The reality is that we will probably need better than expected performance out if our OL and S positions and our WRs and CBs need to live up to expectations if we want to compete.

There’s just no guarantee that will happen.

OT and DT are biggest question marks for me. Possibly safety. The NC State guy from yesterday looks good, but we could use another.

I can see it everywhere except OT. Every other position group we returned the most talented players, just need to develop them.

But what does Dandy Don have to say about this?

His optimism is often misplaced

We are not deep in the secondary or either line of scrimmage.

The further we get away from 2023 the more we're going to realize how generationally good that team was.

This team is good but from a talent standpoint I'll be shocked if he gets another one that features this many NFL players and bonafide NFL stars. Not to mention the seniority he had on that offensive line.

Jayden Daniels
Will Campbell
Emory Jones
Malik Nabers
Brian Thomas Jr
Mason Taylor
Mekhi Wingo

I agree, but OT is not a position group. The OL as a whole will probably be better. Especially compared to the 2nd half of the season without Dellinger

QB - yes. Nuss yr 2
RB - Durham yr 2 and Berry as a HR RB seems better, but Williams was a do everything reliable back
WR - potentially more dynamic with speed and deep threats
IOL - yes, with Thompson and Moore
OT - no
TE - if you count Green as a TE possibly. Depends on ability of Green and Sharp blocking

DE - maybe, if Payton returns to form and Pyburn can defend the edge
DT - yes, Guillory back, Dom and a deeper rotation
LB - Whit, Keys and combination of younger talent, possibly better
Star - Perk for Burns. Yes please
CB - Will miss Zy, but adding Jackson, Pickett, Delane to go with PJ and Stamps with another year of exp should be a yes
S - Yes, Cooley adds a proven S with an above 80 PFF is better than anything we had

Same shite every year. Then when we drop a few games it will be,
“we’re losing the NIL battle!”

OL and WR is pure wishful thinking. OL won’t be better. WR nobody knows.

OL can't be better at protecting the QB than this past year. Maybe they can be better at run blocking while taking a step back in pass protection?

WR looks very promising if Green continues to improve like we saw him in the bowl game. Hilton also finally looked healthy. Those two plus Anderson who has improved a ton since he first got here should be an above average group.

Pretty sure I remember him saying we would have a drop off at quarterback this year

That's funny. I didn't read his article, just threw out my initial thoughts.

Outside of OT, I think we got better, but on paper doesn't guarantee it will happen. Possibly the best part is the staff have more "potentially talented" players to work with to find a solid starting rotation.

OT - worse
TE - hard to project better after loss of Mason
EDGE: probably worse?

Better everywhere else based on portal adds and retention alone
