A couple of notes. I don’t like Lomb because he’s a shite starter. That line about Brennan being able to fund a trip with his family money is pretty inflammatory and “merit less” as one poster put it. He’s a hack, but when no one else is putting out material what choice do we have?

Second, this is what BK wants. Bring in some real competitors and let the battle begin. At the end of the day, BK is the top dog and whoever wins the starting QB spot will have the respect of the team. Glad to see Jayden pushing for the spot. Hopefully he masters that footwork they’ve been coaching his on.

I don't like that statement at all. Meritless and stupid.

I guess he thought that was clever. It wasn’t. Unprofessional and Irrelevant to the story.

Kelly said the number 1 thing he is looking for is someone who protects the football. Daniels threw ten picks to Pac-12 defenses this last season. Not saying he can't improve.

So miles and Nuss have to pay these dudes to practice? But not Daniels?

Waiting for all the jealous self-appointed recruiting experts to start trashing the article for no reason other than it was written by Lonn. They really are more emotional than high school girls on here over him.
Just could not wait for somebody to actually mention you!

I completely disagree with this. Brennan got to play 2 or the worst defenses on our schedule. The third team was Mizzou, who were missing a boat load of starters right before the game because of an COVID outbreak.

Do you think the Pac12 has better defenses than Mizzou fields?

I feel like this is the most overrated feature a QB can have. It's a blessing and a curse.

tell that to the NFL, it's all the rage now. Burrow made a living at at LSU running around the pocket making plays and extending plays with his legs (UGA and Clemson can easily attest to it).

Brennan threw the ball 130 times in 3 GAMES! If he kept that pace up, in a 12 game season that would have been 520 passes. For reference Burrow threw 527 passes in 15 games in 2019. You don't factor in that Brennan, had to play from behind in games, played horrible defenses (go compare those defenses he played with some Pac 12 defenses of that same year), and played in a better offense.

I still think both can do damn well this year. I'm not of the nonsense mindset of everybody saying "Jayden will have a package or come in like Perriloux". If Brennan starts, he'll play until he just goes bad or gets hurt, same with Daniels. They may flip flop in the first couple games, but people are crazy if they think Daniels will be coming into games later in the season like a freshman Tim Tebow or something.

Daniels is trash. If he’s starting we’re hosed.

If he’s thinks he’s gonna win us the west with his feet then you are correct.

All of his best games were VS Oregon. Better than any defense that MB has started against

Also why are we acting like we didn’t get our asses kicked by a middle of the road PAC -12 team just last year????

I mean it’s not the WAC.

this guy will throw many interceptions. SEC defenses will eat him up.

Easily? I watched Nussmeier last year and nothing he did can make you put easily in this statement.

Really don’t care who it is but whoever gets the job will need to be effective at getting the ball to the weapons around him. We have too many weapons at wide receiver and running back to ignore.

The word on Daniels is that he likes to run and is not as effective passing. I can’t see that being the best fit for what we have going on.

I didn't really like that comment, but I'm just different. I don't like overemphasizing limited turnovers. I like the idea of not being afraid to turn it over, because you have confidence you can easily make it up.

However, Coach Kelly followed that comment up by stating he wants a guy who extends plays and is a playmaker. So I did like that.

You may be right, but if the coaches don't know who the starter will be I would have trouble making a prediction. As I understand it, Miles B was in the portal and had essentially left the team. Coach K recruited him to come back and at the time that was very important addition, all things considered. Obviously, Coach Kelly will have to make the best decision for the team. I have wondered how big a factor it will be in making that decision, if the competition is close, in that Miles agreed to come back when the team needed him and he has only one year left to impress the NFL. How much will these subjective issues play into the decision if it's close?

I think this will factor in as far as giving him first shot to prove himself. I also think the window to do so will be small.
