This is very accurate.
Stop bringing up Cam Newton and Tim Tebow. Those were generational talent. I hope you are not comparing JD to them.
You cannot win consistently with a dual threat QB. Again look at the tops teams in the last of couple of years. Ones that can read defenses and get rid of the ball on time and anticipation.

He needs to spread the ball around
4 different receivers caught 5 passes and that’s not counting Boutte’s 2 catches with 4 drops. I’d say that’s spreading the ball around.

Yea that is getting a lot of guys involved. One thing that is encouraging is that we know he can throw a good deep ball. That wasn’t there yesterday and his numbers were still good.

Exactly, that is the problem with people using results at the end as a barometer.

First half he had some happy feet syndrome, but he threw two passes that could have been TD's and one certainly should have been. 2nd half he actually played pretty damn good.

Not gonna be able to see what nuss can do if he has 2 or 3 D linemen in his face .

On the other hand, Tebow was running Meyer's spread option offense. LSU is trying to run a prostyle offense with a single-threat running QB.
If Daniels is the guy, they need to be running RPO and moving the pocket.

Daniels main issue besides OL
* no pre-snap reads and adjustments to line / blocking .
* pulls out of pocket vs stepping in.
BK either needs to adjust to players strength or hell of alot more QB coaching/film room needed.

JD played acceptable in his first start here. But I worry more about his anticipation and getting the ball out quickly
And therein lies my issue with a good running QB. it MAKES you hesitant if you know you have wheels and not trust your reads and if a WR is open or not.
Just off of the tv replay he missed a LOT of open guys coming out of their break, especially in the first half. That's concerning for a guy making his 30th start.

He played well enough for us to win by 20

Jameis Winston is most certainly not a running QB.
I woule not put him in the same category as Cam Newton as far as running.
Damn just cause they black don't mean they are a running QB

But I really want to see what Nuss can do with this receiving corps
My issue with Nuss last year was he was going for the home run ball too much...too much gunslinger. And probably too little experience for a game like the other night. He'll play vs. Southern.
Now my bore BIL has been bemoaning the fact that Brennan was not starting since it was announced he was leaving the team again. He keeps talking about how great his stats were those 3 games he started yada..yada.
Brennan would have gotten KILLED behind that line the other night.

THIS. It was apparent early our OL was not holding up. Adjustments should have been made to leverage Daniel's mobility, and our WR's skills in those 5-15 yd routes. Let them make a catch, and make a play with the ball in their hands.
Mistakes, mental and physical, are one thing and our young team with MANY new players will get better. NOT making adjustments to our pass protection AND DEF schemes on 3d down was frustrating and simply can't happen.
Yep, everything that could go wrong sure did, but I didn't expect it from our coaching staff too. We have to be better than that...

He can't throw a receiver open. His throws were back shoulder for the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter, when the other team was in prevent defense and 10 yards off our receivers, and there was less pressure on the line, his passing skills looked better. Nuss is our best chance at winning this year.
