You can’t blame the 0L, the OC, WRs etc. It’s all on the QB abs HC for playing him. I think we are running a 10-15 play offense and he can’t really handle that. He can literally hold a ball for 15 seconds and not read the defense. They have also clearly not given him any ability to check out of a bad play as he ran right into obvious run blitz’s all night. Including the fumble and TD. Like I said last night he is the anti-burrow.

He is just extremely limited in what he can do. Almost all of his good plays are playground like runs. If he can’t run, there is zero reason to play him against anyone. This puts tremendous pressure on our defense.

He is regressing it getting worse because everyone is getting the book on him and maybe nicked. Tennessee is nuts if they don’t go with complete run stopping defense with spy on him if healthy and dare him to beat them throwing the ball. Hell they might not even have to cover anyone after 10 yards since he has completely lost his ability to see the field. If he is or stays healthy, Will Anderson will be on him in Bama game, and it will be miracle if he survives that.

Maybe he has been injured or something but it’s like watching a bad high school kid out there. Trouble is somehow we are winning so what do u do. But they better have a plan B, because running Qb don’t typically survive the season in the SEC.

Still, there is no one better on the roster. Everyone clamoring for Nuss is being unreasonable. Have you watched him this year? Year one of the Kelly regime was not supposed to be much. So far we’ve seen a better team attitude than the last couple of years as well as weekly improvement. That’s about all that can be expected.

We can beat around the bush all we want, but even with good protection he’s got that deer in the headlights look more often than not.

Daniels can't get the ball down field like Brennan, or even Nuss or Howard, that's why teams are catching on to our short game, but Daniels is out best chance at winning. Brennan, as much as I love him, would be dead by now with our pass protection. I trust in Daniels, the same as I trust every other Tiger player and coach. For good or bad, this is who we are. A fiesty bunch of wild eyed Tigers refusing to die. God bless our boys.

yes its true daniels isnt a good QB

the problem is, nuss isnt even a barely serviceable BU that can come in.

i dont think anyone was prepared for just how bad our QB room was this year, people just assumed we had serviceable options even if they werent great.

Something needs to change. 35 starts into a career and we should be seeing more than what we are from JD. He is what he is.

Nuss might not be any better; but in what is supposed to be a rebuilding year, why not take a look? He did actually look good against NM. That probably doesn’t translate to the SEC, but JD doesn’t seem to translate to Power 5 level QB.

Throws to Taylor and hardly any to the WR is insane. But that is what we are getting with a guy who clearly does not see the field well after 3.5 years as a starter and the guy getting all first team practice reps.

We might as well ask for an extra year of eligibility for Kirklin and let him play QB again.

Commentators were praising his performance all season last night saying about his leadership to decision making. And talking about how he doesn't throw interceptions. I don't get it. It's frustrating watching this at this point. Season is almost halfway over. He has no improvement at this point. Zero.

One thing that might help Daniels is if the receivers were actually open. The route combos LSU is running make it awfully easy to cover, and they're also slow-developing routes.

Daniels isn't very accurate, but not all of the blame should fall on him.

And, no, Nussmeier isn't the answer. At least not this year, and I still have misgivings that he ever will be.

That and they do drop the ball too much when it does come their way. I am not as down on Daniels as most. He is as elite as it gets in certain areas. Our offense needs more quick and easy pass plays that build his confidence and get the ball moving early. I do think Daniels will be scary good if we can figure it out for him.

Yes . I watched Nuss . The game against Southern he did dumb stuff . The NM state game he threw some TDs . Auburn game he had several drops on Very catchable balls . He sets up fast and has a quick release . I say give him a shot .

Look I am not hating on Daniels, the kid has a huge heart and is giving it all he has, and appears to be a good leader and teammate. I am probably one of few on here that saw him play 3 or 4 times last few years due to insomnia bouts. He has always been a little slow ready defense but made it for it with athleticism and freaky good plays. i have seen him make some ridiculous throws, I know he can throw the ball better than this. Something isn’t clicking, he is obviously thinking too much, playing too slow too worried about a turnover etc.

Maybe his hurt leg can work in his favor

On his first scramble he’s pretending to read the D while looking left and nobody was on that side of the field. He isn’t back there looking for WRs, he’s waiting for a lane to open up so he can run.
