I tell u what but if Jennings and Hartis struggle and or a injury to one look for McMillan to get some playing time. He'll for all we know he may turn out to be the missing link

8-4

IMO, a two QB offense would help avoid 8-4. We ended up 8-4 during the regular season because we didn't have an alternative for Arkansas and we waited 1 minute too long for Miss St.

The only thing holding back LSU is Miles' offense

You mean the one that got us to the title game in '11?

ETA I KNOW OUR DEFENSE got us there for the most part, but we don't need Oregon's offense.

Sorry for posting guys but with Fournette at RB and a stingy defense does it really matter who the QB is? Would you not rather go with the conservative choice here?

Dude ... this is the Rant. LSU has the best stable of RBs in the country, but we prefer to argue about the passing game. We could rush for 400 yards/game and still complain about who's playing QB.

Question for tRant: Name 10 QBs from a major conference two years removed from high school who received significant playing time (i.e. 50% or more of snaps) in 2014.

I don't understand so many people hating on a 19-year old QB.

Guice is gonna be #2 in carries in the upcoming season. He's got that skill set that is different that the other backs and is arguably the most explosive RB on the team. He's got great burst. He's very similar to Cadillac Williams at Auburn. A complete RB.

They are not bashing AJ... They are bashing the head coach who makes $4 mil a year and can't get good SEC caliber qbs here on the reg.....

Name QBs from a power conference who completed under 50% of their passes

I don't think his youth or work ethic is his biggest issue. I think he lacks the talent

Just curious, do you enjoy listening to Miles explain his football philosophy?

The fact that Jennings lacks elite talent makes his developmental progression less than that of a QB who does possess that talent.

However, there is nothing to suggest that as Jennings progresses with his development that he can't be an efficient and effective QB for us. He really needed a redshirt year and would have been a fine player in years 4 and 5.

However, Jennings was one of only a handful of P5 QBs in the country in 2014 that started his 2nd year into his career.

Harris obviously has the talent to fall within the elite developmental bracket, but Jennings's seniority places him further along in his development and thus more able than Harris to lead the offense.

Of course, Harris's talent also expedites his growth, so he may not still be behind in the fall.

tl;dr version: both QBs will be better than 2014 and LSU will ride the defense and RBs to the playoffs.

es he is giving you his opinion, which is extremely well respect in the football circles. On top of that he is actually a fan of LSU and truly wants to see us succeed.

No, he isn't respected in football circles when it comes to anything other than NFL draft and even that is tenuous. HIs opinion about LSU's offense is about as relevant, and probably less so, than the average posters on here.

The craziest part of the entire Detillier interview is that there is no hint of him even viewing a spring practice this year. The entire piece is based on player evaluations from last season & bits of information from player interviews & news reports so far this spring.

I'm with you that you can have all the best backs in the nation but in the SEC the better defenses will play 8 close to the line and dare LSU to throw and we will consistently struggle and probably lose.

Les you idiot open up the passing game to our 4 and 5* receivers or they will soon start leaving the state and of course you Les will start to call them names.

And if you don't Les we will fly you back to Mich first class and drop you off free of charge

And to all those fans who think we can't expect better passing from such a young QB please answer how did Ohio State lose two excellent QBs to injury and was still able to put an inexperienced QB on the field and efficiently pass and win the national champ?

If the coach doesn't have a will and show confidence in the passing game there can be no successful passing game and neither will the players have confidence.
