The craziest part of the entire Detillier interview is that there is no hint of him even viewing a spring practice this year. The entire piece is based on player evaluations from last season & bits of information from player interviews & news reports so far this spring.

You could probably get in a time machine, grab some future game tape on Jennings and it would look exactly the same as last season's.

that is if you had a time machine and then wanted to watch game tape of Anthony Jennings l

The interview is about the LSU offense with position by position "analysis". If it was an interview solely about the quarterback position, you would have a point. It's not, so you are off here.

I hope this is true.

why do we remove the easiest things a QB can do like screens, dumpoffs, TE passes, etc

Well, those are some of the most difficult and dangerous things a QB can do. Screens are very difficult to master.

And to all those fans who think we can't expect better passing from such a young QB please answer how did Ohio State lose two excellent QBs to injury and was still able to put an inexperienced QB on the field and efficiently pass and win the national champ?

Cardale Jones was a third-year QB.

This is how I see next year unfolding so far...and surely things will develop and change before the first game. We have 3 future NFL OLs leading the Offense next year, and I think that Brumfield will be in that group by next season...the best set of RBs in country...a 295 lb. TE...we are going to run the fing football. If the QBs are truly improving, the Offense will be fine. The defense will be much better than last year. Will explain if requested...lol...STs will be better...our SECW opponents will be weaker than last year...I'm optimistic and happy about it...life is shorter than you think!

Even Detiller is saying that it's Miles offense. If the offense looks the way it did last season, we will have another subpar season.

JT Barrett wasn't

Also, Jones made his 1st start in the Big 10 championship. Still an inexperienced player

There have been a good bit of young QBs impacting college football over the last several years

That's exactly my point Ohio State was not afraid of passing the football with an inexperienced third string QB in the national championship game. Had Miles been coach of Ohio State he would have run, run and run the chance to win into the frecking ground.

Barring injury I bet Jennings is starter Vs. Mcneese. Hopefully we out 40 in the first half and Harris can own the 2nd half

OSU ranked 106th in passing attempts last year. If Meyer had his way, he would keep the ball on the ground every snap.

The only time he passes is when the defenders crowd the box and he has a numerical advantage downfield.

It's why his QBs are so successful when they are called to pass. That, and they play in a horrendous B1G and Meyer is better at utilizing a collegiate QB.

Our offense didn't struggle because of our run/pass ratio. When we did throw, we executed about as poorly as possible. A sub-50% completion % is the more relevant stat.

Yet Miles still hasnt picked up on the "numbers advantage" in the box....

Thanks for destroying you and the rest of the pumpers in one post.

That's true, but it's still only 1-2 guys a year that emerge. The norm of letting guys adjust to the speed of the game and then playing later in their careers continues.

Manziel, Winston, Kaayas, and Jones will continue to show up every year and they will continue to be the exception.

2 yards on a run is better than 0 yards on a pass.

No question. We also avg'd a lot better than 2 yds/carry, and more often than not, our pass plays netted zero yards.
