What I read was LSU will not win another national championship as long as Les continues to run this type of offense.

Sounds a lot like the '07 offense. Strong running game, smart passing game. I'd take it.

he knows more than most rantards, but he really doesnt have any inside information.

He knows the personnel, so ill give him that.

Not sure i'd say Guice is the X-factor. He's going to be the RB3, and the staff hasnt really shown me that they know how to use a guy like this correctly anyway.

What do we tell RB recruits?

"You won't win any heismans or rushing awards, but you'll get noticed enough to get drafted and will be healthy when it happens."

Re MD's comments on LSU not using the TE's more than we do, I saw TE's wide open over the middle all season long. Our QB. did not, so I think it's more of an issue of them not being thrown to then any systematic issues.

Go ahead and justify this statement. Provide a quote by a respectable analyst about Mike Detillier that supports your statement. If not, accept that he is a blow hard that can speak confidently. Do not mistake confidence with expertise.

On top of that he is actually a fan of LSU and truly wants to see us succeed.

All the more reason to suspect his judgment. In addition he has a stake in Harris' success. He has touted him as the next great QB. If Les' continues to state that Jennings has performed better, Mike can only impugn Les' judgment and not accept his own evaluation or its failure.

Guice won't be an x factor til he gets used to the speed of the game at the college level just like Fournette had to. Some of these people make you laugh like these kids will just step right in and do what they did in HS.

Don't know about that. I'm not as high on Williams as most, and I think he is a typical thumper that LSU has every year. Guice will be Fournette's backup after a few weeks into the season.

Get ready for more Jennings ladies and gents

I'm not a big Jennings fan, but give the young man a chance to see if he improved from last season. I will hold off on judging him until April 18 when I attend the spring game and witness his improvement/decline with my own eyes.

The inability or "un-want" for LSU to have an above avg, difference maker/game changer at qb Absolutley wears me the F out.

I just don't understand.

Sometimes you gotta risk it for da biscuit.

It's kinda what an X factor is. Once Perine got going for Oklahoma, they became a running team, same for UGA with Chubb. Dalvin Cook went from no starts (24 car 128 yards) his first five games behind a mediocre RB to 156 car 880 yards in his final nine.

He doesn't have to step in immediately, but by midseason, I expect him to overtake Williams for the backup spot.

Not going to outright say it wont happen, but it's unlikely. Darrell Williams is going to be really good.

Though in a perfect world Guice would be used in other ways. Screens, passing game, returner, etc. At least in year 1.

IF this is true (and please note that I said, "IF" - I am going off of Detillier's quote here) - IF this is true, then Miles doesn't know how to coach college football at a top level anymore.

IF this is true, this will be a perpetual 8-4/7-5 team until Miles leaves.

Maybe this is what Chavis was talking about?

You cannot win at the top level in this way any longer. You just can't. LSU is LOADED at every other position while our QB position is a complete mess. You can't complete 48% of your passes for 95 ypg and win consistently in the SEC. YOU JUST CAN'T.

IF this is true, then there is no point in getting excited about LSU football until Miles leaves. We are an 8-4 program.

IF.

When given a choice between a play maker or a game manager Miles will chose the game manager. I'm not sure why fans that have watched miles for ten years can't figure this out. If we win 9 games next year, fans will say we could have won 11 with a play maker at QB. In Miles mind we wouldn't have won 9 if we didn't have a game manager at QB.

After Miss State and Auburn games, the defense was in shambles and the reason was supposed to be NFL defections. However, the same reason was not acceptable for offense.

Justifying Chavis because one wants a dynamic offense is asinine. In addition to Moo State and Fuburn games, defense also was inept in Bama and TAMU games. Team had leads and defense needed to stop the opponent on late drives. We seem to place the blame on offense not getting that first down, while not holding the defense accountable for all those first downs that were given up.

Our blinders for inexplicably lost leads are called third-and-chavis by Vol fans.

Anyone saying that Mike Detillier is a blowhard or idiot or whatever, you might be right. But anyone arguing against his analysis of the QB and offense is just living in pretend LSU fantasyland. Basically, even an idiot can see the glaring deficiencies of LSU'S offense and QB situation.
