Great Tiger fan but evidently a better father and husband. He will be missed.
Has to really suck to lose your spouse after 53 years of marriage.

Don will be sorely missed by me and I'm sure many others. Peace be with him and God Bless him. Although he seems to have already done that.

Dandy Don is a class act, great Tiger fan, and an even greater man. Love reading his site and almost choked-up reading his Thanksgiving message.
One of the best things he has going is his interviews with the HS prospects.
Best wishes, happy Thanksgiving, and God bless!
dandyjohn - don't be a stranger on here. You come from good stock!

The fishing lure story was great. He reminds me of my late grandfather and characteristic of the greatest generation. Hopefully rather than "tl;dr," my generation and the next will cherish the pearls of wisdom shared by our elders since they are certainly one of a kind. Good luck Dandy Don and thanks for all the years of information and entertainment provided by your site.

Dandy Don, Thank you so much for your devotion to LSU. Your webpage has been a beacon to Tiger Fans throughout the world.
God Bless.

Don is around the same age that my dad would be if he were still with us, and my dad was raised just up the road from Don, in Jackson Parish. I grew up listening to LSU games on the radio with my dad, and I've been reading Don's site daily since the late 90's.
Stay strong, Dandy Don. The Tiger Nation loves it's own.

Don was a better person than most of us will ever hope to be. For the rude immature posters on this board, I can tell that you have none of his blood running through your veins. Only crap.

The man was hapilly married for 53 years until his wife passed. Raised good kids and bled purple and gold. Better than that: For those of us far away from La. he kept us in touch.

I'm confused! All the articles I found on the Web say that Meredith died in December of 2010. Why is everyone acting like he is still alive?
