Damn Coach O threw shade on Brennan

In the presser today Coach O threw some shade on Myles Brennan without even knowing he did it. Or maybe it was a warning shot across the bow or something to challenge Brennan to step up.
During the segment Coach O was talking about our future and that all the pieces will be together next year except for Burrow, and then he went on to say; “we are going to have to go out and find us another great QB” or something very close to that if not exactly.
Uh hello McFly are you tryin to tell us Myles ain’t cutting it? What you definitely said is Brennan is no Burreaux! Well that kinda sucks but I think most people that saw him this year is expecting a step backwards in that area next year if Brennan is the QB which everything points to that.

It would be unrealistic to expect Brennan to come out and top arguably the best QB in LSU history

Many people have mentioned this before, that Myles may not be the answer or capable of taking over next season.
I dont know what will happen but I'm sure they are going to keep their eyes open if something better is out there.

Did not say we have to GO OUT and find a quarterback. Said we will need to find our next quarterback. Meaning Brennan will not be handed the job. Burrow has shown what it takes to be a great quarterback and the work ethic Brennan needs to bring to the team.

I don't think many of us on this board or sports analysts in the country could have seen Burrow being remotely as good as he is this year from what we saw last year. Improved? Sure! But this I don't think many saw this coming. I'm not saying Brennan will do that good but I am saying if he fits the system well he has the ability to be a more than serviceable QB.
ETA: look up Brennan's high school stats. If he can match 75% of that at the next level then I think we will be fine. My only concern is lack of meaningful game time footage on him. Probably some growing pains early. We just have to hope he can get through the 'big stage games' next year.

Brennan can spin it and from what I have seen he runs better than expected. He will have a big season next yr.

No man no... all the man is saying is that next year will be a new year just like this year was. He would have said the exact same thing no matter who was waiting at QB unless he was a proven championship type QB which Burrow wasn’t until this year.

Burrow is one of the best ever and is going to win the Heisman. It is totally unrealistic to expect Brennen to fill those shoes. He can still be very good though.

Its going to be funny reading posts a year from now when Max Johnson passes Brennan on the depth chart or we are 8-4 because of Brennan's sub par QB play.

Very true, all the pieces are in place except for Burrow!!! This team’s success next year will be how Burrow’s replacent does. O knows this and that is what he meant. Just hope Brennan can drive the ship!

Orgeron wasn't throwing anything at Brennan. Brennan will be the starter next season and he has all the bonafides to be a great QB for us.
He's had two years of watching and learning from Burrow and he'll have 18 mos of working with Brady by the time next season kicks off.
LSU is in great hands at QB, but we gotta get some great QBs in the pipe behind Brennan.
