Don't really see what puts OSU above LSU in the RPI
The majority of their games were played away from home.

here are the reasons why the committee could put LSU behind teams.

Hunt is evaluating everyone else against LSU in a vacuum.

The committee isn’t going to do that.

Shhh. People don’t want to hear the truth. They just want to be pissed off about something that they read with no context

Also, for years fans on this site have argued that the committee hates LSU and does us no favors (continually sending us to the West Coast as a 2-seed for example).

If that is the case, is it that crazy to think that they may come up with a "metric" that LSU is outside looking in on?

I wouldn't bet any money on it, but yesterday's win was 100% essential in my mind for a top 8. Without it, I'd say for sure LSU would be #10 or so.

You are missing the point. If you are a media outlet and you rank a team #1 and then do a projection show for seeding and basing it primarily off of RPI, they should rethink how they do their rankings.

I’m not missing the point. They aren’t going to change who they think the #1 team is based on what they think committee might do. If the committee thinks team A is the #6 team but D1 Baseball thinks team A is actually the #3 team, they aren’t going to change their ranking to match something that might happen.

It’s a very inconsistent thought process. They might as well say we didn’t know who to rank #1 so we just put LSU there.

What? They put LSU at #1 because they think LSU is the #1 team based on whatever metrics they use. If the committee uses different metrics then that’s a different subject. Not everyone values the same stuff. That’s why there are 3 different polls/ranking that are released every week and they are all different.

There are a bunch of idiots on this site too… we might get sent to undesirable places, but we get seeded higher than we deserve. If we are on the fence to host, we get the benefit of the doubt so there is post season play at the box.

What people fail to see is Oregon St doesn’t have the opportunity to play themselves into a national seed next week.

If they are one of the last teams the committe argues over it’s going to be in competition with Oregon.

they chose to leave the Pac12 and go independent so that is their choice.

RPI is dumb af. Oregon State has played a schedule full of big west and big ten teams and they get rewarded for getting swept in their only tough series of the year against Oregon all because their RPI is good? And Auburn and Georgia get the nod over LSU with less SEC wins essentially because they played tougher mid week opponents? B.S.

So ARK is ahead of us becuase they have 1 more SEC win. But Auburn is ahead of us with 1 less SEC win but they beat us head to head, and yet entirely ignore that we beat Ark head to head. It is very inconsistent.

Correction, Auburn has “2” less SEC wins than us, so even more inconsistent.

So we win 2/3 on road, lose in bottom of 9th, and drop 5 spots in D1 projection?

I think we’re already in as a national seed but if we get one SEC tournament win I think it’s a done deal

I guess they didn’t have enough data a week ago to factor into the projections

Let’s just not go 1-and-out in the SECT. Not a good look, and one more win puts us at 20 overall.

It seemed like Vandy jumped LSU, possibly because they swept and we didn’t. Reasonable.

Then UNC got a pretty impressive series win at FSU, including a 10-run rule. So they jumped us.

Then the discussion regarding UGA vs Auburn vs LSU arose. The transitive property came out about how Auburn swept LSU and UGA swept Auburn. So LSU was placed 7th.

On top of everything you just listed, Oregon State was swept by Oregon in a four-game series three weeks ago. Beavers won't be a top 8 seed.

Kendall is a moron, please get in here and explain dropping lsu to 7 when they were at 2 last week and had an RPI that was worse than UGA and Auburn then too. None of that logic makes any sense.

Exactly nothing has changed in the metrics since last week. But now the fact that we got swept by Auburn matters. Kendall is fishing for engagement.

But that was also true last week and they didn’t even mention it
