I think you're misreading or misunderstanding my post. I wasn't saying Jay was shutting Skenes down. I was just saying Jay would be the one pushing back and if he didn't pitch it would be because Jay wasn't putting him in that position. Not Skenes electing not to due to short rest/draft stock.

People crying about rest/pitch count probably never played any sport much less pitched.

I did pitch, and my dad was drafted by the Reds as a pitcher. I’m not arguing about the pitch count or amount of rest he needs. I even said in one of the other threads, that I completely believe he’s going to pitch tonight and will be fine. I’m just arguing with the idiots that think the clock starts as soon as he throws his last pitch and doesn’t stop until he picks the ball up on the mound. That’s just not how it’s calculated. That’s not an opinion.

This is incorrect. I agree he will start and should be just fine and will throw 80 or so pitches. But the .7 you added to his rest is wrong. There is no part of today that is going toward his recovery or rest. 0 minutes. His entire day today leading up until game time is going through his starting day routine. He will pitch tonight on 3 days rest.

Would you rather Burrows not play in the Natty, he might have gotten hurt.
Skenes came to LSU to win a National Championship. Why would he quit with one game left to play? If he is tired or feels impaired in any way he could quit then.
