This is what I don't get. Of Wade was offering something, then so was someone else. Javonte's decision was between LSU and UK. Why no outrage at Calipari? Unlike Wade, he actually has documented history of not playing by the rules.

I can't imagine anyone paying $350,000 for a college player.

Zion’s asking price is also on the tapes, but no one is questioning Duke.

Everyone knows everyone cheats, but LSU just happened to get caught. In a glass half full way, I hope Wade and Dawkins bring the whole thing crashing down.

If they make Wade the scapegoat, he is taking down the whole house of cards. Something will be worked out

It’s stupid how little money sways some of these kids. Remember Lester Earl was like 5K

When you come from nothing to begin with, $5k all at once is all the money in the world.

Well if the Feds want to keep up with this flimsy arse theory of the case that the middlemen inducing players with money is somehow defrauding the university, then let’s talk to all middlemen about their contacts and actions.

I hate the NCAA and if the Ed O’Bannon case didn’t take it down then I hope this one will.

Only way it gets shut down is if NCAA higher ups and TV higher ups get to some senior people at DOJ and ask them to call off the dogs before it all crumbles

Where is the money coming from is the question? There has to be some pretty nervous bag men right now I would imagine.

Why would they be nervous?

NBA rookie minimum is $830k, so according to Wade, it was better than that.

Smart might not even see any of the money. Or very little of it. Sounds like most of it goes to the family or the handler, which I bet would be pretty common. These guys know they're going to be rich in a couple of years and they can wait a little bit for the big pay day.

But the parents, or parent, has likely been living paycheck to paycheck for 18 years, and has other kids still on the payroll. They want/need money now. Same for the handlers, this is their ticket to get paid before the player signs with real agents and management once they join the nba.

The system is what it is.

I call BS on any player getting paid $830K. Maybe I'm just dumb.

Yes, it takes a dumb person to not understand hyperbole, sarcasm, or exaggeration.

Shoe money is the big money. Nike gives big bucks and has plenty to spread around.

very little goes to the needy, that’s for certain.
