I'm waiting on the Howard kid.. All of the qbs have a deficiency Max moves better than Myles and TJ that's not saying a lot.. We will not be any better than 9-3 with any of these bums..
Good morning Mr. Howard

Max runs too early sometimes. Especially towards the end of the first quarter, the DL came alive and OL wasn't ready so Max got shook and started running early. Where if he stayed in the pocket, he may have had been able to throw a more accurate pass. Watch TB12 in the pocket, he moves but his intent is to keep the OL between him and the DL. Max's deep ball (power)looks better. His accuracy worries me. He threw it away a few times, but he also threw some bad passes. His pass to Boutte in the endzone on the first drive could have been picked.
MB15 wasn't pressured much in the first half. He did have a big scramble at the end that was bigger than Max's 2. He showed good presence to me. He always moved to keep the pocket intact and the OL in the best position. He threw some bad passes. Threw some good ones. His TD to Boutte was more on Glock's bad positioning than anything MB or KB did. But also, Myles being a statue is was over blown. He moves well for a Pocket passer.
ETA: I think its much closer than what Jordy thinks.

That’s the conundrum the staff is in. If Max is named starter, Brennan and Finley will both leave and Nuss will be one snap away from being the starter. Nuss needs a season to get bigger and stronger before he’s ready. If Myles is named starter, Max will likely stay as the back up.

Take away BS block in the back call and Johnson had the better reps with the 1s to me.
Love Brennan as a backup but he’s doesn’t give us the best chance to win.

We will need both this year. Brennan is still skinny and slow so will be a sitting duck for rushers. Max can scramble, but that also makes him more of an injury risk. I'd still be suprised if Brennan doesnt start the season, but think we will need both in a big way.

I was thinking about something this morning and that was how calm, cool, and aware Max was during the Florida game.
Now think about Myles during the Moo State game and ask yourself which one you want under center in Tuscaloosa this November.
The answer to that question is your starting quarterback.

That’s great that you have stats but I actually watched the game. Johnson is the better quarterback.

Take away that BS penalty max won the 1st half
Not at all, that doesnt change much
Coach O blatantly said at halftime Brennan was better with the 1s

The blueprint you're talking about is to have the greatest QB ever on your team. I hope we can beat them with a diff strategy.

Myles certainly has the better arm between the 2 and to me looks better in a clean pocket.
How often in a real game against the SEC will you have a clean pocket? Do you trust this OL with delivering a clean pocket frequently enough for Myles, in his 5th year, to succeed? If so, he could lead us to another natty. Or do you believe realistically that Myles will have to make some plays on busted protection? Do you believe he can do that consistently enough?

I think TJ will transfer unless he just really wants to be an LSU Tiger.
ETA: He is young tho and has time to develop poise. He needs some is a bad way tho

You have to start Brennan, because in my opinion, it's a close race. If you don't, Brennan will leave, and he should, and you are left again with no experienced depth. Did last year teach you Johnsoners anything? I mean FFS, let's let a pocket passer walk, and go WITH A RUNNING QB with no one behind him. It IS close, and because it's close, it's gotta be Brennan. The caveat here is if Brennan isn't the same post-injury, or deals with lingering effects as the season goes on.
What? Wasn't the mobile QB 2-0 as the starter?
And yes, Brennan coming off injury should definitely be something to monitor.

Definitely not, he had very few good moments with the 1s. Plus that long TD by Boutte (even if you take away the penalty) would be almost all his yardage with the 1s. He had 15 yards passing on 3 for 9 outside of that 1 throw to Boutte. And that was simply finding a wide open/uncovered Boutte on a crossing route which he does the rest on. Which of course is good to find the open receiver but as far as being an impressive throw or something it was one of the easiest out there for any QB to make.
I think Johnson was clearly way way better with the 2s but question anyone who thinks he was better with the 1s over Brennan even if the penalty didnt happen. He didnt look near as comfortable as Brennan did with the 1s. Again, without that 1 throw to Boutte which regardless you ignore the penalty or not, he was 3/9 for 15 yards with the 1s on every throw beyond that.

If Brennan transfers, Finley will stay. He still has 4 years beginning with this one just like Max. Brennan only has this year. Only if Brennan gets the start will Finley likely transfer.

Completely disagree. But don’t tell an LSU fan base the backup isn’t the best guy on the roster

I understand why people keep bringing this up, but context matters. OM was 126th total D and UF was 83rd. State was 52 and Mizzou was 66. Tho Mizzou Pass D was 84th and the rest were in the 100s. The biggest thing tho is that Max wasn't battling UF and OM's best offenses. Pitts and Moore didn't play. The league leading WR and the Best TE in the draft were out.

Not your quote but I'll respond. In 2021, you can't be scared of QBs transferring and you should play the man that gives you the best chance to win. If #2 leaves, he leaves and thats CFB now.

It seemed like all our QBs with the 1s were forcing the ball to Boutte.
We need other reviving options. Where was Palmer?

??? He lost me here. I'll wait for the coaches to let me know who is #1. IF it is MB, there will be plays and opps for Max who as noted will be more difficult to defend, especially on 3/4th downs and in the red zone.
