You have to be kidding. Miles himself said after the A&M game there is nothing wrong with the engine of the offense. His answer for improving the offense is to execute it better.

If you were a part of the fire Les crowd, I get the disappointment. But really, what else could you have asked for since the Nightmare November? We won the bowl game, there was a home run hire at DC, home run hire at RB Coach, home run hire at WR coach (dude adds value at two positions), stellar external recruiting class, stellar internal recruiting class (look at all those Juniors who came back). That's not reason to be optimistic?

Yes it's reason for optimism, but then you realize hard head is the coach. He is happy with the offense. All that has to happen is for the offense to execute the plays properly, whatever that means.

He called LF the engine, meaning that the offense will and should revolve around LF, since he is LSU's best player.

Do disagree with that?

Man this thread! [Shakes head]

Most of you are confused.

Clarification: change of offense does not mean automatic good passing attack.

Clarification: no offensive change would not mean 120 yard per game passing.

We did not throw more last year because our wr's still have not learned to catch with their feet.

The offense is changing its approach. That is evident this year and never has been in the past.

Will this change help? Will our passing game improve? That is the question, NOT can Miles change.

That's not all that has to happen BUT it IS a big part of it. How come no one ever thinks play calling is dictated by player limitations. Harris had no touch last year, thus we through very short to medium routes. That's an execution issue. WR's dropping balls is also an execution issue that dictates play calling. Don't get me wrong, at the end of the day its still the Coach's fault because he's responsible for teaching these guys how to execute. It seems like they get that and are trying hard to address short comings.

Add AJ McCarron.

Oh, and a guy named Manziel (and Jameis, in the ACC) won the Heisman as a RS Freshmen.

Yeah, those inexperienced QBs sure do struggle....

For the record, I hope we pass <20% every game, go undefeated, and win the national championship, just to see how hard everybody melts.
That would be ever so delightful and amusing. It would be like a championship celebration reminder every day of the off-season!

how can anyone criticize our offense not knowing what proper execution of plays means.

I can give you a hint; missing blocks, dropping passes, overthrowing passes and penalties are signs of improper execution. all of these are first down killers.

He edited and added underclassmen after his statement was proven false.

We can only HOPE.......But remember with LM we hoped for a more diverse offense in the past. I'll reserve judgement till start of season.

I feel we WILL open up the playbook, and begin to run dives to the left as well as to the right.

frick people for getting optimistic about their favorite team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part of me feels like this, another part is of the "don't fall for it again" mold, and then there's the "God bless, why would we want to focus on throwing the football, or acting as if our inability to consistently employ the forward pass is an offensive inhibitor? Any part of our offense that doesn't begin and end with getting Fournette the ball in the safest way - handing it to him - is stupid."

Bash away - I wish we threw it better too FWIW.

I agree with you we should be run first for teams that can't handle us. But for teams with stout fronts aka Bama we need variety and we need execution. A short, quick passing game with big athletic receivers will be a nice compliment.
