CPM is hoping his batters save him.

He takes out a Hot pitcher for a pitcher good in practice. Then he takes that pitcher and pulls him out.

Bottom line - 3 runs later - LSU is losing.

Should have kept Vietmeir in the game

We lost this game because we started a freshman pitcher at 3rd and went to a Sr pitcher who has always struggled to throw strikes

I don't get my hopes up anymore with Mainieri's teams. It is what it is year in and year out.

^^This advertises your lack of understanding of the game of baseball.... first start of season; is always on a count limit and the limit is always low. Also, since your apparently the guru and smarter/better than PM; who could he have put in; that didn’t pitch yesterday? Yeahhhh definitely should’ve thrown Fontenot or Beck; and stressed their arms so early in the season; increasing their injury chances; because this Air Force game is super important and we absolutely can not lose or there goes the season!?!
^see how dumb that sounds.... that’s how you sound criticizing PM for doing the exact thing that these games are scheduled for; hint; tinkering with roster; and working out kinks. Seeing who should play and who shouldn’t. We schedule these early games against these easier teams bc they don’t matter and an L is absolutely ok and even understandable...

Early in the year you have to throw a bunch of guys out there to find out who you can count on later in the year.

That just seems incredible to me! Think of what he said...we scouted him as a pitcher...don't even know if he played another position or was a PO...saw his footwork at 1st and says "hmmm...think we'll start you at 3rd for the 9th ranked team in the country on opening day"!

Does PM suffer from "Austinism" thinking he's gonna pull another Bain out of his hat? It's just hard for me to believe that he has become this apathetic!

Nonsese. A good example of how wrong you are is that the No. 1 Florida team's starting pitcher threw 88 pitches in the season opener against Miami. Manieri always takes his pitchers out too soon.

Florida lost the series to Miami today. Is that the best example?

It’s almost like he had money on AF for the win.

I didn’t watch the game. Won’t comment. A sure fire sign you got a Paul Mainieri team is they lose to squads they should be expected to blow out. Also, tons of Ls for midweek games.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Jaden hill sat next weekend due to arm soreness

Should have kept Vietmeir in the game.

That is the bottom line. Why put Floyd in cold off of the bench when Vietmeir is Hot.

Are you saying Floyd didn’t warm up before entering the game?

You don’t understand baseball

Shut up about Vietmeir. He has a track record of getting shelled. Enjoy his 1 inning
