It's really a pretty simple concept. See things you like and discuss why. See things you don't like and discuss why. That's why this board exists.

CPM didn't throw anyone under the bus. Listen to the interview for yourself.

Any inside scoop on Arnold? Will he be ready to go tomorrow?
Posted on 4/8/21 at 1:38 pm to DRock88
Honestly haven’t heard anything since it was confirmed not to be broken.

I listened to the interview. The OP hardly reflects the tenor of it.

Did you listen to the interview?

PM complains, specifically about Cade and Beloso, that we aren’t hitting. And that he can’t hit for them. That he has no control when they’re in the box. But he has control over who is in the box and when. He did also say he doesn’t know how to fix anything so I guess there’s that.

PM has been pulling the same bonehead moves for a decade. Just because he made the finals of the CWS and a few regionals in the past few years doesn't mean he shouldn't have done much better. He has squandered many of opportunities with some really talented teams, but y'all keep defending the idiot who has been doing the same thing for a decade. I honestly believe you could could pull a fan out the crowd and they could do as much good as PM does for LSU baseball, and the fact we are paying this bum $1 million a year is a joke.
Dude you realize that LSU has been a top 5 baseball program over the past decade right? Look I hope that PM retires at the end of the season and we can get somebody new too. There’s a ton of reason to not like PM at the moment you don’t have to go and say dumb shite like that as well. To sit here and act like it’s a smart idea to fire a head coach coming off of a CWS runner up season is beyond stupid

Your summary of the interview absolutely skews what was said.
It's pathetic. Are you unable to legitimately make a case against Mainieri?

How does it skew it? What have I said that’s incorrect? People have corrected my summaries before and I’ve changed them. You’re right in that there’s no reason to exaggerate anything because the results and decisions speak for themselves.

So he throws his players under the bus consistently but offers nothing in terms of what he or his coaching staff is doing to help them and be a solution. This man is a poor excuse for a leader. He can't lead people. He's a whiner and an excuse maker. He needs to be sent packing. Put in an interim and move on.

The interview is linked. I encourage people to listen to it and form their own opinion.
I believed what you said at first. It wasn't crazy that Mainieri might call them out, and I assumed it was a desperate attempt to motivate them (not exactly a positive).
Your summary absolutely distorted the tone of that interview. It's an embarrassment and frankly is going to make me look at your other opinions more critically.

This dude just refuses to take the blame for anything. Yeah you can't go out and hit for them, but you sure as shite could at least show some sort of fire in the dugout and get in someone's arse rather than throwing them under the bus on the frickin radio.
Maybe he thought this kind of approach was helpful at some point, but it's clearly not.. so maybe try something else instead of resting on your (outdated) laurels.
So sick of this dumbass.

You still haven’t pointed a single thing out.
The tone? Did you expect him to sound mad or angry? He doesn’t talk that way to the media. It’s his soft spoken voice as always. The first part of the interview is fine. But he absolutely made it out like he has no control and it’s the players who haven’t come through. He takes no responsibility and when TBob specifically asked him what could be done he said he didn’t know.
ETA: the guy on the radio sounds like the guy with his head down in the back of the dugout for two straight games. He sounds defeated and blames it on batting when he went week after week trying to defend a defensive lineup.

I dont know whats worst the baseball team being 1-8 in SEC play or having to read ell_13's breakdown of every single Paul Mainieri press conference daily. Geezuz dude you got anything better to do? They are not even accurate. You suck at this.

That's not the way I heard it at all. He said that he didn't have the answer and that he wasn't blaming Cade. It sounded to me like he was admitting that he didn't have them prepared well enough to hit in the SEC. I took as him basically saying that he thought what they were doing was gonna translate just fine and that they weren't coaching the kids up anymore. Honestly, I think that may be even worse.
