Dylan Thompson - freshman infielder / right handed pitcher

Thompson saw time on the mound and on the infield in the fall. He's been described by the staff as a competitor more than anything. He was decently effective on the mound even with lower velo than the rest of the staff. Because of the dual role, and the lack of clarity on the infield (among the likely backups), he seems more likely than some of the other freshmen to be a "game time" decision on redshirting. I think it will come down to the health of the pitching staff heading into opening day.

I flew to Florida to visit family for Christmas, and the gate across from me in Atlanta had a flight headed to Omaha. I'll take that as a good sign.

After a few seasons of up and down performance from injuries and control issues, Coleman seems poised to take a leap forward. He has the stuff to stretch out as a starter if needed, but is probably more destined for a long relief role.

Working with LHP specialist Nate Yeskie will hopefully pay off big for him. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the 16th round. It's an org that actually looks to develop every player they bring in rather than looking at the back half of the draft as filler. So he passed up a great developmental opportunity in pro ball to bet on himself.

Can't wait for the Lynn Rollins phrases. Still laughing about the homerun hit so hard and far which made him say, "You couldn't find that ball with a subpoena!"

I know there’s going to be an inevitable drop off losing so much including the two best players in college baseball, but I still can’t wait.

Probably not a Top 8 year but if we can protect Tanks and avoid too many arm injuries still think we host a regional.

The Orange bowl got boring and I’m home alone for a few hours, so I just pulled up the Wheels YouTube channel and am watching highlights from last season.

You can see Justin Loer pitch for Xavier against Oregon in one of the early season videos.

"Looked for a fastball... I didn't get it."

Gasps for air...

"but I was so amped up, I just threw my hands at it.”

One of the best post-game interviews ever.

I hope Little fixed some things in the offseason. Would be pretty badass if this dude comes out and kills it for us.
