Cam Johnson is scheduled to pitch in the Cape Cod league this summer. It doesn’t always work out for pitchers to go due to innings limits, but it reflects how highly he’s thought of to be invited to go after his freshman year. The majority of players in the Cape are invited for the summer before their draft year.

And I know there was some confusion over this at one time, but Johnson will not be a draft eligible sophomore. His birthday makes him a three year player.

Fwiw Kade Anderson is hitting 94 and all his spots in winter work.

Kid is a stud and gonna be huge for us this year.

IMO he should get 2 way look. Kid can rake.

Trenton Lape is one of the longest tenured commits in the freshman class. He was a two way guy in high school and early on was thought to be a position player.

He had Tommy John as a senior in high school and is still on the recovery track. It’s looking like he will redshirt this year as part of the effort to get down to 40 on the active roster.

Dallas Dale II is from Mt Dora Christian in Florida, but may as well be an in state kid. His dad is from Louisiana and played college basketball.

Dale is a good athlete in the OF and a LH hitter but was sidelined most of the fall after getting injured in an early scrimmage. In a crowded position group and without much time on the field due to injury, he may be another redshirt candidate.

Denham Springs, about a year or so after Ben McDonald. Played basketball at Southeastern La.

Griffin Cooley is another bloodlines player. His brother Welles was a good player at McNeese for several years. Griffin is another good, athletic, lefty outfielder. At this point he looks more like a developmental program guy than an instant impact guy. Could be another redshirt.
