This is a dumb take.

Myles was talented enough to be a solid D1 starter, but just not at LSU. Had he found the right team that ran an offense that was more geared towards his skill set, he could have had a solid college career. He also had injuries that slowed him down, but being thrown in as the QB at LSU is an extremely high pressured spot to be in and it just didn't work out for him.

I do have an immense amount of respect for the kid because he hung in there and represented LSU in a first class manner!

Huh? Didn’t Brennan leave before Daniels came in? If I recall, after O was fired, Brennan temporarily entered the portal, then agreed to come back under Kelly, then retired. Daniels came in after.
Granted, BK could have told Brennan he was bringing Daniels in, which may have influenced the retirement decision. However, if it was purely about competition, he could have remained in the portal.
Either way, I don’t think Brennan was ever officially behind Daniels.

He could have, but he did not. I respect his decision.

It's an opinion, not yours but mine. It's ok to disagree, the world still moves on.

Dude was on pace to put up monster numbers before his first injury.

In 2020 I think having Myles we beat Texas AM.

We still probably lose to bama and Auburn because our defense couldn’t stop anyone that year.

In 2021 we would have beat UCLA, Auburn, bama, Arkansas.

Ole Miss and Kentucky would have been toss ups.

So you go from 6-6 regular season to 10-2 regular season, you don’t have a mass exodus of players, get a better bowl game, Orgeron is never fired.

I've been on this since people have been downplaying ND's win over UGA. If the UGA loss can solely be pinned on losing their starting QB, how can we neglect to give the same criteria to the 2020 and 2021 seasons? Max Johnson and Finley should have never seen the field.

I don't think they have some rock star follow up season, but a decent 6-4 or 7-3, then 8-4 or 9-3 in 2021 after losing so many big players after 2019 would have been bearable. And then, that may not have been enough to keep Woody from going get "his guy"

Was Bryce Young too small for the SEC? I understand the differences in their game, but Myles was a prototype pocket guy by the time he left… 6’3”ish, 200+… Nuss isn’t a big guy either.

Bc he came from money and wasn't hungry for it

He had talent but not enough drive

that's my view on his career too, he just didn't love ball like the 2 great QBs LSU had recently.

Yeah but he could have played elsewhere?

He did not want to. Kind of a throwback compared to where we are now in college football.
really?

Because Brennan entered the transfer portal, then stayed.

Not a throwback, like you think.

I really feel for the guy. He had one of the rare injuries where doctors had not seen that type of injury and it sidelined him a good bit. Tough SOB though to play 3/4 of the game with that abdominal tear/rip. He was not going to be as good as Burrow or Jayden but he could have been a Mac Jones type. Good college career and solid backup/potential starter in the NFL.

Probably would have been really good in an Air Raid system

I was over him when he hit the portal but came back around when he decided to return in 2022. I saw it as him coming back to a bad situation when he could have went else where.

Sort of funny how Jayden came in, beat him out and he retired. Come to think of it, Myles got beat out by Etling in 17, Burrow in 18 then Daniels in 22.

Myles retired before fall camp. He knew he wasn’t gonna be the starter.
