I do agree that Miles should've at least tried a new qb. JJ was not getting it done. On the doorstep of a legendary season you don't leave any bullets in the gun

Yes 100%

LSU still finished the season with a better record than Bama.
Bama didn't deserve the rematch.

Yes. Doubt we win, but he would have at least crossed the 50.

Jarret Lee should have started the entire season. JJ sucked and had no business on the field at any time that season. I believe Lee definitely makes a difference in that game. He was by far the better passer, he had more poise and I think the whole team plays better with him at QB.

This was incredible

We won the 9-6 game.

Me coming in for JJ would have been much better so Lee would have done something toward a semblance of an offense.

No but Jayden Daniels would have lit them up.

I think they could’ve put in Zac Mettenberger and won the game. Bama did not have the defensive backs to defend him And the receivers we had for that game. Had he just let it air out every single play and LSU go for broke because we were not gonna run the football game

Do you think his early performance that season against Alabama may have influenced that decision? Lee was 3-7 with 0 TDs and 2 INTs. Or maybe his career vs Alabama? 24-58 1 TD - 7 INTs.

But somehow some of you continue to think that somehow, this time, it would have been different.

The writing was on the wall in the regular season finale vs Arkansas and SEC Championship vs UGA.

The final scores don't really reflect it, but the offense in the first half of both of those games was flat out awful and took Tyrann punt return TDs to get any sort of momentum going.

No. He was a bad QB on a great team. And he almost blew the 9-6 game with his two INTs.

Plot twist: Zach Mettenberger comes in during the first half and jumpstarts the offense for a victory.

THIS!!!!!!!

I half way understand being scared to sub in Lee because it was obvious Bama just had his number and knew how to defend him. But it was also painfully obvious Jefferson wasn’t going to turn it around.By end of the Third at latest, I would have been looking to try anything just to get a spark of life out of the team. What did we have to lose at that point.

I truly believe the only way we would've won that game was to completely change the strategy away from worked the entire year.

Air raid, 50 passes, etc.

Otherwise, They had our number

Drop it, Joe. And no, they wouldn't have scored.

Saban had the perfect gameplan for the championship game-- just let Les run the same offense and the exact same game plan as in their first meeting that season. And he succeeded and Miles failed miserably. LSU can have played Bama that night for 10 quarters, and never have scored
