If this was offered to LSU, it seem that they would have gone straight to the NCAA and SEC and advised of the situation to protect themselves. Again, the article states Ms. St. reported it to the SEC in July, so why would the SEC not report the allegation to the NCAA then.
Just as at MSU I doubt any university would get directly involved. If LSU was contacted it would have been to someone outside the program. LSU just simply disavows any knowledge of this persons actions.

I believe if game would be fortified it wouldnt count as a win or loss... Just a vacancy

I agree, but I have no confirmation if that was or was not done. This staff has generally stayed on the up and up, so I imagine this was reported as well.

Million dollar question, and if there is any foul-play from the SEC in this story, you can kiss the prestige goodbye. An undefeated SEC champion may not make the BCS game. Fa realz.

At the time, losing Cam to AUburn was just a huge disappointment. It was kind of like damn -- we could have used that guy next year.
Now, after it's clear the guy is like schooling Tebow, you just can't take it and you have to report it.

The BCS and the NCAA are two different, independent entities.

You are probably right.
The Reggie Bush situation can't hold a candle to $200k cash for an unproven recruit. And to think that Auburn has trouble selling out their season tickets with that kind of cheese.

I understand that, and I was being facetious.
However, if the SEC has wrong-doing in this investigation, this will impact the conference as a whole on a national level, and indirectly, possibly the BCS.

The story says that Cam's father, who just renovated his church, made the decision where Cam was going to play. That kind of situation almost invites abuse. Don't know anything but what I read, but this could have some legs. Hope not. Newton has earned his success on the field.

Even if Auburn vacates wins the loss would stay
At the end of the year? The revised SEC West records could be something like LSU 7-1, Auburn 0-0 (or LSU 6-2, Auburn 0-1)

Agreed, but maybe Auburn did not earn theirs.

I really hope that nothing at all comes from this Cam Newton crap because if you don't realize it, the SEC is regarded as the most corrupt conference in college football.

You're right.

My Question is that if this was reported to the SEC Office in July, why in the hell did they not inform the NCAA of the allegations.
As I understand it, the NCAA last week asked to see Cam's father's bank accounts, etc. Cam's Pa is a pastor with a church whose building was being condemned by the city council. This past spring the church underwent extensive renovations to meet property standards. This was just a few months after Pastor Newton announced just before Christmas Eve that his son, Cam, would be attending Auburn. I know this is all highly circumstantial, but it suggests a smoking gun might (again, I said "might") be found in Pastor Newton's pocket.
Seems the NCAA is already investigating the allegations. Wish this had blown up about 2 or 3 weeks ago instead of now.

I'm sure MSU reports of recruiting violations are a top priority for Mike Slive. I'll bet they had to call Indianapolis themselves.

Could this story get bigger than any of us would like it to? Is it possible LSU could be implicated also?
I have been assured by numerous sources on The Rant that Lesticles runs a clean program, so, no, that would be impossible.

agreed. Cam's daddy aint smart enough to hide 200k.
You're assuming the agent has already passed the money along. More than likely, he's holding it in "escrow" and the payment will be hidden somewhere like in a reduced agent fee when he signs his pro contract. No way they're dumb enough to make a $200,000 contribution to the New Zion worship center.

This is all a Moo State ploy to give LSU false hope, and get us up for Saturday so we wear Bama out for them next week.

possibly, then where did the money for massive renovations come from when that church is apparently broke?

Is it a recruiting violation to make a donation to a church? ...I think this one might be hard to prosecute.
