I’m 50 and CFB is slowly fading out of my areas of importance. Not what I grew up with. Not regional. Killing rivalries. 12 team playoff is a stupid money grab for TV. Go back to bowl tie-ins and regionally understandable geographical conference alignments. Imagine- in the SEC a year or 2 from now, you’ll have a team lose to their 2 biggest rivals, not make the championship game, and they’ll say, “meh, we’re still in the playoffs.”

Under the current (for 2024) SEC football schedule, LSU will play Auburn twice in a 4-year period *2024-2027), once in BR and 0nce in Auburn.

Every team has ONE permanent opponent (our's is the Ags) and rotates the other 14. this system is with 8 SEC games per year.

If the SEC votes to go to 9 games, we'll each have three perms and rotate the other 12 over 4-year periods.

With either 8 or 9 SEC games, we will still play everyone twice over 4 years.

If it's an 8-game schedule, there will be 1 permanent opponent and the other 14 will rotate 7 and 7 each year, so yeah host Auburn once in 4 years.

How do you know they're going to do that? They could do something like 3 or 4, maybe even 5 permanents and then rotate the rest.

I'm not even sure they'd be my fifth choice for a permanent opponent

Back in the Tubberville era at Auburn, the teams would physically beat the hell out of each other. Some of the hardest hitting I’ve seen.

because 1-7 is what they are doing for the next 2 years and if they go to 9 game sec schedule they are going to 3-5

So many amazing games, especially in Tiger Stadium.

They were really the only team in 2019 to gives a little trouble at home.
