to join up with the Staff and help us get through this interim period?

We are already paying him. It would be a fun way to have him finish out his contract.

He could help a little with recruiting and bring some extra juice to the program.

Look I would love to have O around just as a hype man, but I can’t trust him.

Did he not sort of politic his way into the HC job last time? Not saying I think there is any real risk of THAT, but I am saying let coach Frank set the tone & do his thing.

O will never be allowed around this program again. Thinking otherwise is ridiculous. If you don't know why then you didn't pay attention.

There is a 99.9999999% chance the contract was specifically for the head coaching job so even if you could force him back (you can't) it would only be for the job the contract was for. This is the same reason you can't force BK to be the janitor for the rest of his term. It is HC or nothing unless O or BK agreed but that would just require a seperate contract.

A have zero expectations. I’m saying do not insert O into the situation — You named an interim now let him have control & don’t introduce unnecessary distractions or potential drama.

You’re not being serious are you?

We should hire him permanently and give him a $15 million a year, for the next 20 years, guaranteed for full value.

The Blind love for this guy is amazing. Like was said earlier, you don’t want this guy any where close to this program, esp with the new found “want to coach again”. Hes broke. He will have to take a job soon.

I’ll give credit to him getting Burrow here and somehow assembling a world class staff in 19. Itbwas lightning in a bottle. Other than that, O was a shitty coach that no one else wanted. He was the fat girl that helped you get over a slump but never offered anything of substance.

People forget that he came here and was working for LSU, then bolted in the middle of the night to join LK in Knoxville and tried taking all of our recruits with him. He is “only one of us” because he is a native of LA.

Probably could not, but that depends on the language of the contract. Maybe we could offer him a job and that would force him to take it or another job, but that would depend on if there was a clause requiring him to try to find a job, and that would reduce the payout. I doubt he has that because he sure hasn’t tried too much.
