Lmao. Now how many more highly qualified men that actually played the sport are still waiting. I don't blame her, but this is absolutely a joke and 100% a product of today's woke bs.

Will Wade hasn’t played competitive basketball since middle school.

I’m fine with that hire.

If they want to be professionals, then they will have to learn to be professional.
It’s an odd thing to object to considering its low A. If she is good, she’ll stay or get promoted, if not, then they will move on from her. Just like all the other coaches.

I have zero issue with women coaching any sport. If they know the game and are respected, neither should anyone else.

I’m sorry how much college basketball did Will Wade play?

He at least started as an assistant and worked his way up. He’s been around basketball long enough. I didn’t really say they had to have played. Softball isn’t baseball.

Or better yet how much women’s basketball did Geno Auriemma play?

Not really a great example. Also, he worked his way up the coaching ladder.

Balkovec broke into professional baseball in 2012, when she took a job as a strength and conditioning coach for the St. Louis Cardinals in the minor leagues. From there, she went on to work for the Houston Astros, where she became their first female Latin American strength and conditioning coordinator.

In 2019, she made another trailblazing move when she joined the Yankees organization as a hitting coach

During the 2021 season, Balkovec worked as a Yankees minor league hitting instructor in Tampa.

quote:

In 2018, she pursued a second master's degree in human movement sciences at Vrije University in the Netherlands. While abroad, she worked with the country's national softball and baseball teams. She has also worked for Driveline Baseball, a data-driven baseball center.

If that's not working your way up, what is? They didn't just give her this job

She has been an assistant/trainer since 2012. Started off in strength and conditioning then did personal training before becoming a hitting coach in 2019.

Strength/conditioning and hitting coach to a manager is still quite a jump.

But I guess it’s not a half bad idea to see how she does with a Low A.

I’m merely skeptical of the appointment . Between the “goddamn wokes” and “great hire for teh hotness”

This really is astounding. Hope LSU recognizes her as young alumnae of the year.

Not really. I’ve seen them fail in many areas. It’s Less stupid than acting like it can’t.

It’s not like they hired her as the AAA or MLB manager. She came up as a developmental person and she is going to be dealing with players that need developing. Seems like a legitimate hire and if it was a man with that exact same resume no one would bat an eye.
