Kelly got a train wreck and Jimbo's Successor need not and likely will not.
It shows up most vividly in the rosters left behind, but also in the culture and the recruiting wreckage that had to be cleaned up.
Admittedly, A&M will have some losses on the roster and recruiting, and we do not yet know the extent, but damage control seems to be more competent already.
In part, that is because adults are still in charge in College Station, but in part b/c Orgeron had inflicted more damage before he was fired.

Maybe we should wait and see what's actually left behind at aTm first.

Their boosters will keep a bunch of talent there.

That should not surprise you. The bags are there.
The $-centric talent is there.

And its all fair.

That talent hasn't done shite though.

aTm is a perfect example of why I think NIL will eventually correct itself over time. You can pay out of the arse for kids, but it won't necessarily translate to success. You now just have a bunch of 18-20 year olds with more money than they've ever seen. If you had loads of cash at that age, football wouldn't be your top priority in life.

Boosters won't keep dishing out that kind of money without seeing results.

You see a small glimpse of it with LSU women's bball. Winning put players like Reese on the map, they collect the bags, and all of a sudden lose site of what got you there in the first place.

I could coach that defense. Wish BK and House would have inherited that defense.

I don’t know how you can really conclude this when the transfer portal window hasn’t even opened yet and ESD is still a month away.

I would be fairly surprised if their attrition was as bad as LSU’s when it’s all said and done, I think we might want to at least let the portal window open before making any declarations.

The "adults" in College Station are what have enabled years of 'just above mediocrity' no matter who the coach has been.

The idea that they are so much in better shape as a program than we generally are is beyond laughable.

I’ve never seen a program devastated like LSU was when O left because of mass exits. It had to be encouraged by one or more of the coaching staff.

BK inherited a foyer full of national championship trophies to show anyone that you can win at the highest level at LSU. Texas A&M would have a national championship trophy in their hall of champions except they had to scrap it to help with the war effort.

That’s why teams like the New York Yankees never win anything? There will always be exceptions, but generally, the teams that spend the most will win the most.

Urban is done.

It is a great situation for their next coach. If they get someone smart enough to go get a great QB they will be instant contenders. Hopefully they get another Jimbo.

There have been plenty of instances when the Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers, or other big spenders have fallen short of titles, or even playoff contention. When big money is spent wisely to support building a team or program the right way, it works. When you try to straight-up buy a title like A&M did, it usually ends with you flat on your arse and the blowing it all up to rebuild.

I hope you follow him to A$M should he go there we don't need anymore fools here. No on second thought stay and watch LSU get our asses kicked every year Kelly is there.
