Him dying in the job seems to have really elevated the retrospective analysis of his career for some people.

He coached at Texas Tech, Washington State, and MS State and made them all relevant while he was there. That is the sign of a good coach.

The only reason people are saying leach deserves it more than miles is because he’s passed(RIP).. let’s be honest.

Miles gets a ton of heat on here despite keeping the program bar at a high level for a very long time. Y’all would have crucified Leach if he coached here.

Leach was a great offensive mind who changed the game (somewhat for the worse id argue) but that's not good enough to be in the HoF in my opinion. Being entertaining or dying also shouldn't make you more likely to get in the HOF. Everybody dies

So does Hal Mumme get in too?

They would have to lower the win % to .480 to make him eligible

Les Miles was never the "aw-gee-shucks-it's great to be a Tiger" coach he fooled many into believing. Ask around to people who worked near him. He was an arrogant jackass, difficult to work with, with a superiority complex knowing no boundary.

Shouldn’t they vacate Miles’ losses too? I mean if Vadal was ineligible in a win, he was also ineligible in the losses.

Les Miles will not get into the Hall of Fame. He may be eligible but won't happen. I'm glad he won a title but his last few years of not changing to what college football was becoming plus his abysmal record at Kansas will prevent him from getting in.

Anyone who doesn’t think Les miles should be in the HOF is a crybaby

With Les Miles as coach there was less smiles for tiger football. So, he's a no for the hall of fame.

A bit off topic, but I haven't seen anything indicating even a sighting of Les since he left Kansas. It's like he dropped off the face off the Earth. Does he just stay locked up in his house? There's been zero about him other than in law suits.

Mike Leach deserves it more than Les

No necessarily disagreeing with you but why do you say this?

I will give my opinion on this. While Leach never won a title or ever got close to one. His career impact on the game cannot be denied. His passing schemes are all over college football at all levels. Not to mention the coaching tree he has.

Hall of Fame will not stoop that low. No Miles on their radar.

You probably could have caught him at a UCF softball game this spring(his daughter plays there). Latest photos I saw of him was at his son’s wedding last summer

just like O never viewed LSU as a dream job.

coaches all put on the public persona that helps their career path.

very few can pull off being dickheads in public and stay gainfullly employed very long.

look at someone like Pelini.
was definitely successful enough to have kept a job somewhere. But he’s an a-hole. And don’t win enough to be an a-hole.
You have to win at Saban and Belichick levels to be a prick like that.

Miles used the “aw shucks” shtick.
O pushed the “one of us” narrative.
etc.

Is he not suffering from dementia or other cognitive illness? I think that might be why he’s been mostly out of the public eye.

Les Miles was lucky, not good. He does not deserve HOF.

Before Leach’ air raid offense, you had Johnny Jenkins Run & Shoot offense and Hal Mumme’s offense. Is June Jones in the HoF ?

The guy with a .57 win percentage? No, he isn’t eligible
